So earlier 9To5Google found that Google Maps will be adding a new Material You widget, and apparently it is starting to rollout. The widget is named "Quickly find places nearby".

Smallest grid size of the widget goes to 3x2, and the largest can go all the way to the maximum, maximum tile of the widget is 8. These are all tested on the grid size of 5x5.

The image attached is how it going to look like on Android 11. Users on Android 10 and below won't get it unfortunately, did an APK teardown myself and it really seem to be available on Android 11 and later for now.

Google Photos might soon get different shape of Material You widgets
It been a while since Google Photos roll out "Your memories" Material You widget. Apparently there a Japanese promotional material of the Pixel 6 which showcase another type of widget that shows your photo, and Google is preparing it in a upcoming update.

9To5Google spotted in the app that there will be 6 shapes in total to choose from: Circle, Flower, Pill, Fill, Square, Star. They are guessing that "Fill" and "Square" is the one we have for now, "Star" will be pointy and "Circle" is rounded shaped of course. "Pill" is something similar to Google Clock's Digital and Stacked widgets. Lastly "Flower" should be the bulbous x-shaped that we have seen from Keep and Drive widget.

You can "Select a frame style" after placing it on the home screen. I personally teardown the APK and it seems like it will be available to all Android version, currently it hidden under the app version 5.63. (9To5Google)

Chromebook will be able to receive and make call from your phone
So if you do receive phone call frequently and you spend most of your time on your desktop, you had find it annoying to pick up your phone to do that. Chrome OS is soon getting a nifty feature that could solve your everyday life problems.

First discovered by Chrome Unboxed, there a Chromium Gerrit entry which could introduce a new flag called PhoneHubCallNotification. With that you can enable the "Ingoing/Outgoing call notification feature." If you dig into the commit further, you will notice that it won't be just a simple notification popup, but you'll be able to take and make phone calls right away on your Chromebook: “Enables the incoming/ongoing call feature in Phone Hub.”

There no mention of its being a Pixel exclusive, so it will probably be compatible with other Android devices. (Android Police)
