There's a new user switcher on the keyguard
Esper

Multi account usage of Android 13 has been improved. The passcode page shows a large user profile switcher on the top (portrait) or on the left (landscape). This feature is disabled by default but is controlled by the SystemUI boolean ‘config_enableBouncerUserSwitcher’

New media player UI being tested
Esper

Google is revamping once again the media player UI in Android 13. The new work-in-progress UI features a larger play/pause button on the right, a progress slider and media control buttons on the bottom, and the media info on the left. Currently, the new media player design doesn’t show album art, but that may change in a future preview release.

This new design is not active in Developer Preview 1. To enable this new UI, a SystemUI flag must be toggled.

Android 13 gets a "Tap To Transfer" feature inspired by iOS' Handoff
9To5Google

Google is working on a new “Tap to Transfer” feature in Android 13 for smart speakers. The feature allows media apps to move playback to a compatible device by moving your phone close to that device. The feature does not work currently as it hasn't been implemented fully. It isn't known how it works, as Google's speakers don't have NFC or UWB.

Android 13 prepared per-app language settings and here's how it looks like
9To5Google

You most likely have learnt more than one language, and if you had like to use a different language for a specific app, it's unlikely you can do that for now, but soon Android 13 is making it come true.

The settings is located at System > Languages & input, tapping on it show your installed applications. Select any application from the list will show you all the languages that the app has added. Some apps may support a ton of languages, so the system will suggest you language according to your system language settings, so that you don't need to scroll all the way down and search for it.

The feature is still not yet available by default and not fully working yet on the first developer preview of Android 13. Hopefully Google could retain and make it available till the final release.

Regarding the long pressing on backspace bug:
The custom kernel developer @DespairFactor has made a fix for it in his Despair Kernel. The issue, according to the creator is Pixel 6 Pro (raven) only and is the fault of the touchscreen drivers (hence the fix in a custom kernel).
If you're on A13 DP1 on this device, consider flashing the kernel!

Chrome's downloads shortcut button prepared dialog box and get circular progress
Android Police

Earlier we saw that Chrome is preparing a shortcut button for downloads in the toolbar, but previously it is still a dummy button. Recently, it is discovered that the Chrome developers have worked on it and the shortcut button is now at least functional to use.

First spotted by Redditor Leopeva64 (2), clicking on the button will show you a dialog box with your recently downloaded files and a shortcut to show all your downloads. It's likely that Google will add options like 'Open', 'Show in folder' in the dialog box as the current design is pretty basic.

Besides, when the browser is downloading files, you will see a circle progress bar on the downloads shortcut button. Once finished downloading, you will see another icon taking over the previous one, and it will first appeared as blue but later turned gray after one minute time.

All these new changes are spotted on the Canary channel (version 100).

Android 13 Developer Preview 1 for Pixel 6 included virtual machine framework
kdrag0n

Interestingly, Google included a new virtualization framework and KVM hypervisor in the developer preview build of Android 13 for the Pixel 6. This means you can run Windows 11 on Pixel 6 with the native performance, nearly no compromise in speed you can say.

Android 13 DP1 has showcased possible Pixel Notepad design
ROM Screenshot

Came around those screenshots from an Android 13 port with a popup on how to use the new taskbar on a foldable device. Could this be the Pixel Fold/Notepad? The foldable device matches this image which has been removed and replaced with a more generic device in 12L.
