Google app gets redesigned search suggestions on Android 13
9to5Google

With Android 13, Google made some changes to the Pixel Launcher universal search feature which they added the Google logo to the search bar. Recently, the Google app got an update which reveals what Google is planning to do.

This particular UI change match the Pixel Launcher universal search feature. At the time of posting, it isn't widely rolled out. Once your device got it, you will see search suggestions & history is placed on a card featuring rounded corners. It's likely that when you press on the search bar, the Google app will open and let you search over there.

This new UI is only likely to be available on Android 13 only. Older Android versions will continue to see the current old UI.

Announcement
Hey there, I guess I don’t need to explain why the channel isn’t active these days, but if you don’t know yet, let me explain in this post.

After putting a lot of effort for a consecutive 10 months on this channel, we are finally here. Without your support, it wouldn’t be possible. Over the past 10 months, because I have spent a lot of my time posting over here, I haven’t been doing well on the other side.

So yeah, I have decided to spend less time over here, so there will be fewer posts from now on. That doesn’t mean we are giving up. What we are going to mainly post here is some Pixel stuff as you know, then probably some meaningful changes in Google applications and Android, other stuff will depend.

You might have noticed that we are currently experimenting with some sort of summary post, which we will try to compile news that we couldn't manage to post on this channel over the week. You can also see this as a sort of reminder of what Google released over the past week.

Every day is a busy day for me, I will try my best to continue posting over here, so yeah, hope you have a nice day and be able to achieve your own goal too.

Pixel 7 prototype on eBay for sale
eBay

Someone just posted a Google Pixel 7 prototype on eBay for sale. Currently the phone is sitting at $510 USD.

The seller claims the device comes with Android 13 and has "pixel apps in development stage". Instead of the Google logo, this engineering sample features a different logo just like other Pixel PVT's.

Update: We've backed up the website on archive.org in case the auction gets taken down by Google (link)

YouTube widely rolled out engagement graph, letting you know the most popular part of a video
Back a few months ago, YouTube is testing out with engagement graph on the video progress bar, later they made it a Premium experiment feature. Just a few weeks ago, YouTube made this feature available for every user.

Basically this graph will only show for videos that are released three days later with more than 50k views. On the desktop, hover over the progress bar and you will get to see the graph, meanwhile mobile users need to hold or drag the progress bar.

The highest position of the graph means most people had watched it, with YouTube highlighting it as "Most replayed" when you dragged over it. The graph is available to view on the mobile apps and desktop web.

*I shared this as I just discovered it, and didn't know it had rolled out at all :)

Google Search playing around with categories yet again
Most of you has probably seen some changes made to the categories section, as Google was playing around with it recently. There's one which put it over to the side of the search bar, while another one has been moved over to the left side of the search results.

Now yet another change appeared, this time it came with boxes while placing it at the same position. The icons and words are now just mono in color, and that's pretty much all the changes.

Once again, it's an A/B test so it isn't available for everyone. This is not a bad change, as I can easily notice which category I am currently in compared to the current one.

Another Pixel 7 Pro sold, now a brick.
u/AMC20_

After the Pixel 7 auction on eBay, according to a Reddit user, Google has started to remotely wipe their unreleased devices.

Reportedly the owner had used it for a month before it got remotely wiped and now is stuck in fastboot mode. Coincidentally it got reset after the Pixel 7 post went public.

The device might've came from the same person - the Pixel 7 seller had also posted the device on Facebook Marketplace, same place the OP on Reddit got it from.

Pixel 6a is now selling unofficially on Facebook Marketplace
Facebook Marketplace | TikTok

If I had a nickel for every time a Pixel had been sold before its release on Facebook Marketplace, I'd have two nickels which isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice.

The Malaysian seller also made a video on TikTok opening the device which they sell for RM 2200 (501 USD, 630 CAD, 467 EUR) which is a tad higher than it's MSRP.
