The prototype Pixel 7a has been bricked.
Source
Google has been making some progress in preventing leaks, such as bricking leaked devicesand the lack of a black market for unreleased phones (so far). Nevermind. However, they still have a long way to go in terms of keeping secrets.
This was evident when a leaked Pixel 7a prototype was recently posted on a Facebook group. The device reportedly was purchased online.
Google was able to remotely wipe the device and remove the post after a day of it being up.
It's likely that they were able to track it down easily, since it was connected to the Internet and the video included the prototype's IMEI, serial number, and the user's Gmail.
A photo of the device in Fastboot mode reveals that the Pixel 7a will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, an upgrade from the 6GB of RAM on the Pixel 6a.

Stadia Controllers gaining Bluetooth connectivity next week
Twitter
Good news for the three Stadia Controller owners, next week you'll get a tool enabling Bluetooth connection that will let you connect it to a different device instead of a USB-C cable.
Very nice move coming from Google, reducing E-waste by keeping these controllers in use, instead of putting them into a landfill.

The first game on Stadia is also its last
Speaking of Stadia, the first game that was made before the official release of the platform is now available to the public.
"Worm Game" was used to test many of Stadia's features, starting before its public launch in 2019 and continuing until 2022.
The game is a snake game with 4 game modes: Campaign, Arcade, Multiplayer and Build with 6 maps to choose.
The team is excited to share the game with the public as a way of saying thank you for their support, so check it out before 18th of January 2023 when Stadia gets shut down!

The Stadia Controller Bluetooth connectivity tool is out
As promised, the tool letting you use the Bluetooth Low Energy connection on the Stadia Controller has been released. It uses a Chrome functionality to flash the firmware, similar to the Android Flash Tool.
This update will permanently disable Wi-Fi connectivity, so wait with updating your controller if you want to use it to play wirelessly on Stadia as Stadia closes down today 😢.
You have until December 31, 2023 to update the controller so it can use Bluetooth mode.
There is also a 'tandem mode' letting you plug a Stadia Controller to a different one to use inputs from both controllers at the same time letting you and someone else play in a 'friend mode' where you share the game's inputs.
You can turn your Stadia Controller into a Bluetooth one right here: https://stadia.google.com/controller/

Material You is now more complete on ChromeOS
Twitter
Users @cr_c2cv and @emty2021 have figured out a way to get Material You working with command line flags.
The experimental flags show us a redesigned, Android 12/13-like quick settings menu with tiles for the toggles. Some elements have gotten moved, like the power button or the Canary version. There's also a new keyboard layout button and a light/dark mode toggle on the right side of the volume and brightness toggle.
The inputs menu has also gotten some changes, with a microphone input volume slider and a Live Caption switch.
The design is not final with placeholder texts and other quirks (like no MD3 toggles), but it's a nice preview of what will come in the future.
