Google Photos gains more features like Magic Eraser for Google One subscribers and Pixel users
Google Blog

Starting today, Magic Eraser, a new HDR video effect and exclusive collage styles are now available for Google One members on Android and iOS and all Pixel users.

Magic Eraser can remove distractions in photos, like people or objects, and the Camouflage function can change the color of objects to make them blend better in the photo.

The HDR video effect will improve the dynamic range, brightness, and contrast across users' videos for a dramatic and balanced look.

The Collage Editor has been updated with the ability to add frames to single photo, and limited-time styles from artists Yao Cheng Design and DABSMYLA.

Google One members can also enjoy free shipping on prints in the United States, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom.

Fall Detection is finally coming to Pixel Watch
Google Blog

Starting today, Pixel Watch users will receive the long awaited fall detection feature. It uses a combination of sensors and machine learning to detect when a user has fallen.

If the watch detects a fall, after 30 seconds it will vibrate, sound an alarm and display a notification asking if the user needs assistance.

If the user doesn't respond after a minute, the watch will automatically contact their emergency contacts and operators with their location information, and you'll be able to talk to the operator.

You can turn the feature on in the ‘Updates’ page on the Watch Companion app or directly on the Pixel Watch in the Personal Safety app.

The feature is supported in Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Japan, Taiwan, United Kingdom and United States and if you travel to an unsupported region it will be unavailable.

Fast Pair coming "soon" to ChromeOS
Google Blog

After being announced over a year ago, Google has now showed how the feature will look on Chromebooks.

You'll be able to pair Fast Pair-enabled Bluetooth headphones with one tap, and if you had set up the device with your Android phone, your Chromebook will automatically connect to them.

It's not clear exactly when the feature will come, and what devices will support it, but we know that all new Chromebooks starting in 2023 will receive it.

Google Pixel Buds A will get a color refresh
Source

Leaker Kamila Wojciechowska has found renders of an unreleased colorway of the 2021 Pixel Buds A-series.

The buds and the inside of the case are a light blue color, with the outside being in white.

It's likely that the earbuds will be released during Google I/O to match the Pixel 7a in "Arctic Blue". Google is also working on Pixel Buds Pro in a similar color.

Android 15 treats you ice cream in vanilla flavor
Mishaal Rahman | AOSP Gerrit

Android 14 just entered developer preview stage in Feb and seems like someone out there has managed to find out the internal dessert name used for the latter version of Android: Vanilla Ice Cream will be representing Android 15.

Google has already started to list out plans for Android 15 despite Android 14 is still in early stage, just so they can make sure the feature can be implemented on time for the next release. Just a fun fact but this time the codename has been revealed one and a half month earlier than Android 13, which was first revealed in late April 2022.

Google app Material You design starts to roll out

It is spotted that Google is trying to implement Material You element into their search app, most of them aren't live for users yet but the search suggestion page seems to be the first to roll out.

The design is familiar as it can be found in the Pixel Launcher search feature too. Only devices running Android 12 or later will be receiving the new UI in order to make the experience consistent with the system.

Chrome for Android to receive new UI in search suggestions, better tab management tools and more

It has been a while since we saw some breaking new features on Chrome. Anyway, those are coming very soon in future versions, here are some that are worth giving attention to.

The next version of Chrome will come with a zoom option where you can enlarge the content while keeping all of them in view, which was announced a few days ago. And Chrome 113 has prepared a slight UI change to match the look of the Pixel Launcher universal search design.

There are some handy tools in the tab management section, where you can select multiple tabs and close, group or bookmark them. This is also prepared for public launch on version 113.

It is also discovered that the incognito lock feature seems to be ready (tested and working), followed by a reorganised Privacy and security settings page to make ways for the Privacy Sandbox feature, now it's up to Google on when to roll out the feature.

March 2023 Android Security Bulletin has been released!
Source

Google is a bit slow today with releasing the March QPR2 based Android 13 builds, but they have released the ASB for this month's security fixes in the 2023-03-01 and 2023-03-05 security patch.

Sadly, Android 10 will not have any future security backports from Google.

As always, we'll keep you updated when the March builds for Pixels will be released. ❤️
