US Backs Israel’s Land Grab In Syria
The State Department framed Israel's incursion into Syrian territory as 'self-defense'
On Monday, the US State Department backed Israel’s seizure of territory in Syria that came after the collapse of the government of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, framing it as a defensive action.
Israel seized a buffer zone between the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and the rest of Syria’s territory that was established in 1974 and also captured several areas beyond the zone. When asked about the land grab, State Department spokesman Matt Miller said it was important to put the situation in “context.”
“First of all, the Syrian army abandoned its positions in the area around the negotiated Israeli-Syrian buffer zone, which potentially creates a vacuum that could have been filled by terrorist organizations that would threaten the state of Israel and would threaten civilians inside Israel. Every country has the right to take action against terrorist organizations,” Miller said.
Miller also insisted the Israeli occupation of the land was temporary. “The second thing that is important is that Israel has said that these actions are temporary to defend its borders. These are not permanent actions,” he said.
Also on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the Golan Heights would be Israel’s “forever,” although it’s unclear if he was referring to the recently-captured territory.

Yemeni Drone Makes Impact In Central Israel
The Yemeni drone managed to overcome Israeli air defenses and warning systems before striking a penthouse
A drone launched from Yemen on 9 December made impact on a building in the Israeli settlement of Yavne, located between Tel Aviv and the city of Ashdod, marking the third consecutive day of Yemeni operations against Israel.
“An unmanned aerial vehicle that apparently crossed from Yemen was detected in the area of the city of Yavne. So far, no reports of casualties have been received. An alert was not activated, the incident is being investigated,” the Israeli army said in a statement.
It said later that it detected the drone at several locations after it entered Israeli airspace, though it was not a continuous detection. Because of this, the military was unable to predict the drone’s route and set off warning sirens.
Video footage shows the drone buzzing in the sky before striking the penthouse of a building. The drone attack caused significant damage.
A day earlier, the Armed Forces of Yemen’s Sanaa government announced, in cooperation with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI), “a military operation targeted a vital target in the south of occupied Palestine with a number of drones.”

A federal judge has ordered the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to publicly disclose more information underpinning its authorization of COVID-19 vaccines, after failing to persuade the court to end the public records lawsuit.
In a ruling, on Friday, U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman in Fort Worth, Texas, ordered the agency to produce its “emergency use authorization” file to a group of scientists who wanted to see licensing information that the FDA relied on to approve the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is long passed and so has any legitimate reason for concealing from the American people the information relied upon by the government in approving the Pfizer vaccine,” wrote Pittman, appointed in 2019 by then-President Donald Trump .
The lawsuit, filed in late 2021, attracted attention after the FDA said it could take decades to process and disclose records to Public Health and Medical Professionals for Transparency, the group that brought the case.
The FDA declined to comment.

A group of 250 Ukrainian military experts has arrived in Syria’s northern Idlib governorate to train extremist militants in the use and manufacture of drones, a source told Sputnik on 17 September.
“There is confirmed information that the number of Ukrainian military experts who arrived in Idlib has reached about 250, they have been distributed to industrial workshops and several sites in the city of Idlib and the countryside of Jisr al-Shughur, to manufacture drones,” the source said.
“The Ukrainian military is training militants affiliated with the Turkistan Islamic Party under the command of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham for the use of drones, and technologies to develop them with regard to the ability to increase flight speeds, photography and targeting,” it added.
The source goes on to say that hundreds of drones “were shipped to Idlib in batches as spare parts and [under the guise] of commercial civilian goods.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, on 12 September, accused Ukrainian intelligence agents of “actively recruiting Islamist militants” in northwest Syria and the Sahara and Sahel regions of Africa “to carry out terrorist operations.”

Now the question is, since Israel and Hamas were BOTH preparing for “all-out war” in the months leading up to October 7th, as pointed out in Part 1…… WHY THE #%&$ WOULDN’T ISRAELI LEADERSHIP TAKE INTELLIGENCE INDICATING AN ATTACK SERIOUSLY…. let alone repeated intelligence from multiple sources, internally within the nation’s security forces, as well as externally (Egyptian and US intelligence as well).
Moreover……. WHY WOULD INTELLIGENCE OFFICERS AND OBSERVERS WARNING OF THE ATTACK BE THREATENED WITH COURT MARTIAL FOR DOING THEIR JOB PROPERLY AND WARNING OF THE ATTACK BASED OFF SUBSTANTIAL EVIDENCE AND ASSESSMENT?
Many dismiss talk of intelligence failure as simply a result of arrogance and hubris, which maybe would satisfy to potentially explain a dismissal of intelligence from one or two source, but..
When you have multiple internal and external intelligence sources repeatedly warning for a year an attack was being planned.. With internal intelligence providing detailed intel indicating why junior intelligence thought that an attack was on the horizon, with details of the training, and even the attack plans..
and those internal sources were threatened with court martial for continuing to warn despite prior warnings falling on deaf and dismissive ears..
It is hard to simply write off the intelligence failure as an incidental failure, a series of unfortunate coincidences.
Especially when in the months prior to October 7, Israel was already publicly integrating AI with their military in preparation for “all-out war”, and Hamas was threatening “all-out war”.
Why would contingencies and countermeasures NOT be put in place in the event the indications of an attack turned out to be true - even if senior leadership found it improbable?
So while Israel felt the need to prepare for “all-out war” by integrating AI with military equipment in July months before Oct 7th, WHY did Israeli leadership not feel the need to take seriously multiple intelligence officers and sources providing intelligence and warnings indicating an attack?
It is a simple question. And I cannot find anything but a simple answer. Israeli leadership wanted the attack to happen.
