🇻🇪🇻🇪🇧🇷🤡 — The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, accused the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, of using his recent accident—in which he struck the back of his head after a fall at the official Presidential residence—to “lie” to the BRICS group, thereby vetoing Venezuela’s entry into the alliance. See the full statement below:

"Direct and close sources in Brazil inform me that President Lula da Silva manipulated a supposed accident as an alibi to avoid attending the recent BRICS Summit, and that this version was nothing more than a ruse to enforce the veto against Venezuela, thus evading his responsibility to President Putin, other attending leaders, and particularly President Nicolás Maduro Moros.

What initially spread as a rumor now appears confirmed by a video released yesterday, showing President Lula in good health, fully capable, and acting with blatant cynicism. Meanwhile, there is considerable discontent within the Latin American left and revolutionary movements worldwide over the shameful and destructive actions of his government at the Summit, cowardly vetoing and attacking Venezuela while obediently following the directives of our historical enemies.

Lula reappeared smiling and unscathed, revealing that he used the ‘accident’ to deceive Brazil, BRICS, and the entire world, an act for which he should be investigated."

⌛️ Brazilian government sources stated that Nicolás Maduro attempted “last-minute” pressure to have Venezuela included on the BRICS associate members list, which Brazil responded to with an “emphatic” rejection.

💥 At the conclusion of the summit, Maduro’s administration labeled Brazil’s veto a “hostile gesture” and an “aggression” against Venezuela’s interests.

🌐🌐⚡️🌍🇺🇸🏴 ZeroHedge | The US Vs BRICS In Africa | Authored by Andrew Korybko via Substack | October 25, 2024:

"(...)

The next way in which US strategy towards Africa manifests itself is through the “Africa Growth and Opportunity Act” (AGOA) that allows for duty-free trade between them. The downside to this arrangement is that the US has removed countries like Ethiopia and Mali from it as punishment for them refusing to comply with its political demands. In other words, while there are certainly some economic benefits to be had from this arrangement, they can be cut off if countries don’t do what the US wants.

BRICS’ response has been to liberalize trade and investment with Africa as a whole, which is easier than ever due to the creation of the “Africa Continental Free Trade Area” (AfCFTA). China leads the way in this respect due to its much larger and more developed economy relative to other BRICS members, but Russia, India, and the UAE are also making important strides in this direction too. The goal is to diversify these countries’ trade partnerships so that they’re not destabilized if the US kicks them out of AGOA."

Mayhem at Washington Post After Bezos Kills Harris Endorsement – Staff Threatening to Quit and Denounce Company
🇺🇸📰🚫🗣👤🇩🇪 BILD:

"For the first time in 36 years, The Washington Post is not endorsing any candidate in the US elections.

The liberal Washington Post, owned by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, will not endorse any candidate in the US presidential election for the first time since 1988.

After The New York Times endorsed Harris, The Washington Post editor-in-chief William Lewis said his newspaper would not endorse either candidate.

Lewis said the newspaper must remain independent and allow its readers to form their own opinions.

He noted that The Washington Post initially did not endorse presidential candidates, beginning the practice only in 1976. It was only in 1988, during the elections of George H. W. Bush (Republican) and Michael Dukakis (Democrat), that the newspaper refrained from making recommendations.

Lewis also announced that the paper would no longer endorse presidential candidates in the future. In most federal, state, and local elections, The Washington Post editorial board has supported Democratic candidates, with only occasional Republican endorsements.

In addition to the article by its editor-in-chief, The Washington Post published another article citing two employees who wished to remain anonymous. They claim that a text in support of Kamala Harris had already been prepared, but the decision not to support any candidate was allegedly made by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos himself. There was no official comment from The Washington Post on this issue; the editorial board simply referred to Lewis's article.

The editorial board and the decision-making process for endorsing candidates are formally separate from the newsroom, but The Washington Post's journalistic community has expressed concern that management appears to have interfered in editorial matters.

Former editor-in-chief Martin Baron, who led the paper during Donald Trump's presidency and retired in 2021, called the decision "cowardice" and said Trump would see it as a call to further intimidate Bezos and other media owners."

👤💬🇷🇺🤝🇺🇦👤✔️ TASS | IN BRIEF: Putin comments on situation in Ukraine, treaty with North Korea in TV interview | According to the Russian leader, it is too early to determine what Russia and Ukraine can agree on, as no detailed talks between Moscow and Kiev have yet taken place | October 25, 2024:

"MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. Ukraine has approached Russia twice with initiatives mediated by Turkey but has promptly retracted them, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on the "60 Minutes" talk show on Rossiya-1 television.

Moscow and Pyongyang will independently decide whether and how to utilize provisions for military assistance from their bilateral treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership, the Russian leader told TV channel reporter Olga Skabeyeva.

TASS has gathered key statements from the head of state.

On talks with Ukraine

Russia has never refused to engage with Ukraine on various initiatives but will not compromise its interests in any negotiations, Putin emphasized. "We have always maintained that Russian interests must be respected in any agreement," he stressed.

Ukraine has approached Russia twice with proposals through Turkish mediation but subsequently walked back its initiatives. "When we agreed, it turned out that the Ukrainian side had already withdrawn. This happened twice," he revealed.

At the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented new proposals for dialogue with Kiev regarding shipping in the Black Sea and "some other issues," Putin said.

According to him, it is too early to determine what Russia and Ukraine can agree on, as no detailed talks between Moscow and Kiev have yet taken place. "I would prefer not to go into specifics right now, as no detailed negotiations are underway, while the opponents back away," Putin added."

🇷🇺🪙📈🏴 ZeroHedge | Will Russian Buying Drive Silver Beyond $50 | Submitted by Jesse Colombo of The Bubble Bubble Report | October 7, 2024: "A report from the Russian news agency Interfax last week reveals Russia's plans to substantially increase its precious…
💥🪙🇷🇺📰 Daily Reckoning | Silver, the A-Bomb, and Russia | October 23, 2024:

"During a critical stage of the Manhattan Project in 1942, its organizers ran into a problem while attempting to build those first atomic bombs.

They had figured out a way to enrich uranium using electromagnets, but it was a highly resource-intensive process.

Thousands of tons of copper were needed to create electromagnetic coils, but the metal was in short supply due to its use in weapons production. Copper was needed for shell casings, coatings, wiring and other applications.

Thus the leaders of the Manhattan Project decided to secretly borrow 300 million ounces of 0.999% silver from the Treasury Department.

As the most conductive metal in the world, silver was the ideal material for the job. It made highly efficient wire coils, which created the powerful magnetic fields needed to separate and enrich uranium.

In all, 14,700 tons of US silver was melted down and forged into the massive electromagnetic coils used to build the nation’s initial nuclear arsenal. Nearly 1% of the entire nation’s electric capacity was directed toward these efforts, and the silver coils ensured an efficient use of it.

(...)

Silver coinage in the US ended in 1965. And by the late 1970s, America had sold off almost all of its silver reserves.

Today, nations no longer hold silver as a monetary or strategic asset.

Until now, that is. The Russian government recently announced it would begin adding silver to its precious metal reserves. Allow me to explain why this is a fascinating development.

Russia certainly is isolated from the West. But within the BRICS+ and Global South, its influence has never been greater. Russia is playing a leading role in building the BRICS’ alternative to the dollar-based monetary system. It has no choice, as it has been cut off from the legacy system."

IMF expects global public debt to exceed $100 trillion in 2024
🇬🇧🆗💸📈🏴 ZeroHedge | UK To Change Definition Of Debt So It Can Add $90 Billion More | October 25, 2024:

(...)

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves, the UK's equivalent to the Treasury Secretary, has embraced a fiscal overhaul that could allow the UK to borrow as much as £70 billion ($91 billion) more over the next five years by changing the very definition of debt, as the government defended a budget that looks increasingly likely to tax investors.

As Bloomberg reports, at next week’s budget, the government "will be changing the way that we measure debt" to a new arrangement that will “free up money to deliver a long-term return to our country and taxpayers,” Reeves told reporters on Thursday in Washington, where she was attending the IMF’s annual meetings.

And yes, we are literally talking about "changing the definition of debt" as Goldman explained in its Budget preview note"
