Speaking at a joint press conference with al-Sharaa, Erdogan emphasized Türkiye’s commitment to Syria’s territorial integrity and unity.

In Syria, the situation is still far from stabilizing: in the province of Aleppo, there are battles between the Kurds and the SNA, and in the south, in El-Quneitra, the Israelis are in charge. And instead of fighting the IDF, the jihadists are attacking religious minorities.

🔻 Syrian-Turkish border area:
In the north-east of Aleppo province, low-level clashes continue between militants of the "Syrian National Army" and the Arab-Kurdish "Syrian Democratic Forces". The main battles are for the Tishreen Dam and adjacent settlements.

Meanwhile, a car bomb exploded in Menbij , killing dozens of civilians. Pro-Turkish media blamed the Kurds for the attack, hoping to disrupt their talks with the new government and win it over to their side in the conflict.

Damascus is in no hurry to use force, hoping to reach a peace agreement with the SDF on the transfer of the northeast of the country under the control of the authorities. This would help the militants avoid unnecessary casualties and increase their authority in the eyes of their supporters among Western countries.
🔻 Militant attacks:
Amid ongoing attacks by ultra-radical groups on members of religious minorities, a new Syrian faction, Saraya Ansar al-Sunna, has emerged, calling itself a breakaway from the terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham .

Extremists have claimed responsibility for recent killings of Alawites and Shiites, as well as former SAR servicemen who have undergone the “status settlement ” procedure with official Damascus. This, however, does not protect them from possible reprisals by militants.

However, even the emergence of the “Sunnah Brigades” does not in any way whitewash the Syrian government: the “security services” under its control also attack the civilian population under the pretext that there are supporters of the former ruling regime among them.
🔻 Activity of Israel and the USA:
In the south of the country, in the province of El-Quneitra, Israeli troops still maintain a presence, conducting search operations to eliminate weapons depots. Meanwhile, the so-called "Islamic Resistance Front in Syria" has not shown any activity in the past period.

Local Syrian media reports that the Israelis have partially withdrawn from several positions, including in the city of Quneitra and the Al-Mantarah Dam. Meanwhile, pro-government sources claim the opposite: the IDF is only strengthening its control over the occupied territory.

The same Syrian media write that Turkey and the US will soon reach an agreement on the withdrawal of American troops from the Euphrates region. However, the US controls the main oil and gas fields: it is premature to believe that the US will simply give them up.

📌 At the moment, only part of the country is under the formal control of the now disbanded Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which heads the government: the other part is controlled by pro-Kurdish forces, which have their own institutions of power in the form of the so-called "Autonomous Administration".

The stabilization of the situation in the country also determines whether Damascus will be able to find a common language with the SDF. Both sides, although they have difficult to resolve contradictions, are in no hurry to stop negotiations and move on to an armed solution (which is what the Turks and their proxies from the SNA want).

❗Even if we manage to find a common language, there are plenty of problems in the country: the ongoing Israeli occupation, the economic crisis, and the reluctance of a whole bunch of groups of different orientations (from the SNA and the Druze to the ultra-radicals) to surrender their weapons and join the “new Syrian army.”
