"Megiddo" Prison: one of the most prominent prisons that witness abuse and torture after October 7th.

The Prisoners' Club reviews the most prominent data and testimonies of the prisoners about "Megiddo" Prison, where three detainees ascended to martyrdom after October 7th.

- "Megiddo" Prison was one of the most prominent prisons where prisoners and detainees witnessed operations of torture and maltreatment, which were the most severe alongside what occurred in the Naqab Prison, after October 7th.

- "Megiddo" Prison is considered one of the central prisons where the occupation detains Palestinian prisoners. After October 7th, dozens of testimonies emerged from prisoners and detainees about the brutal torture and abuse operations carried out by the prison administration's repression forces along with units from the "israeli" occupation army, involving systematic and collective torture.

- Severe beatings and brutal raids were among the most prominent aspects mentioned by the detainees, along with the extremely harsh detention conditions, falling under systematic torture.

- At the beginning of the major aggression against the prisoners after October 7th, many prisoners, including leaders of the prisoner movement, were transferred to "Megiddo" Prison, specifically to the solitary confinement section "Megiddo", after undergoing abuse, torture, and severe beating. They were effectively put in double isolation, especially since the isolation in prisons today cannot be compared to the level of isolation that existed before October 7th. It is double isolation on more than one level due to the deprivation of prisoners from family visits, stripping them of any means to know what is happening outside, as all prisoners were deprived of TVs and radios. Currently, only limited visits conducted by legal teams under difficult and strict conditions are allowed.

- Besides the brutal and horrific assaults in the prison, the prison administration continues its policy of starvation, significantly affecting the health conditions of the prisoners, in addition to the severe cold that greatly exacerbated their suffering. This is accompanied by the deprivation of prisoners from adequate provision of clothes and blankets, in addition to the severe overcrowding in the sections.

- After October 7th, the name of "Megiddo" Prison became associated with the elevation of three martyrs as a result of the operations of abuse, torture, and medical crimes. Omar Draghmeh from Tubas ascended on October 23, 2023, Abdul Rahman Mer'i from Salfit ascended on November 13, 2023, and Abdulrahman Al-Bahsh from Nablus, who ascended on January 1, 2024.

- Among the first and most prominent testimonies that emerged from "Megiddo" Prison was that of the detainee (A.H.), who recounted horrifying details about the operations of beating, especially the deliberate targeting of detainees in sensitive areas of the body, focusing the beating on the head and back. "Megiddo" Prison was described as Abu Ghraib, and most prisoners in the rooms sleep on the floor. No group was exempted from the operations of beating and maltreatment, including children, as "Megiddo" Prison holds child detainees, in addition to the insults and offensive language that the prisoner endures during the assault operations.

- In addition to everything mentioned above, all those who suffered injuries due to torture and abuse did not receive treatment and were subjected to medical crimes. This was evident in one of the testimonies about the conditions surrounding the martyrdom of the prisoner Abdulrahman Al-Bahsh.
