A last-minute deal negotiated by N.H. House Majority Leader Jason Osborne between RebuildNH-supported representatives and the governor delivered commitments to fix the unconstitutional state of emergency statutes this fall leading into the beginning of the next session in January. ReopenNH believes this deal is an acceptable solution to remedy the constitutional crisis we've lived in for the past 15 months. Details about the deal have been published in NH Journal, a Media publication of record for the state, and the governor has signed a letter indicating his support for the deal. It's appropriate to acknowledge the accomplishments of 2021 and celebrate moving the needle back toward liberty. We are looking forward to the Legislature executing on the necessary constitutional reforms promised by Gov. Sununu that further strengthen our achievements. These achievements will not end our advance toward liberty, since we still need to ensure that no governor and no legislature can ever violate the constitution under any circumstances ever again.
