A trágica morte do jornalista Vlado Herzog, em 1975, vem sendo utilizada há anos de maneira indevida em debates políticos. O problema, agora, é maior: o episódio serve de pano de fundo para algumas pessoas alfinetarem a comunidade judaica.

Foi o que fez Juca Kfoury quando, em seu texto na Folha de S.Paulo da última segunda (27), cobrou a presença de representantes de entidades judaicas no ato inter-religioso que marcou os 50 anos da morte de Vlado, realizado no sábado (25). Juca não deve ter olhado para o lado, pois fotos e vídeos mostram que ele estava bem perto do presidente da Confederação Israelita do Brasil (Conib), Claudio Lottenberg. O jornal se viu, então, obrigado a publicar um “Erramos” e ainda editou o texto na sua versão online.

Não dá para entender a provocação. A história de Vlado se entrelaça com a do Brasil e com a dos judeus que vivem aqui. Foi marcante para todos a decisão, encabeçada pelo rabino Henry Sobel (Z’L), de não enterrar Vlado na ala reservada aos suicidas no Cemitério Israelita do Butantã. O fato de ter sobrevivido à perseguição nazista e sua morte trágica são motivos para que a memória de Vlado jamais seja esquecida... Today, Ofir Tzarfati was laid to rest for the third time:
After the remains of Ofir Tzarfati were returned to Israel on October 27, in place of one of the murdered hostages who are still held by Hamas, his family held another reburial ceremony today (Thursday), opening his grave for the third time.
“Ofir, a radiant soul with a boundless heart, continues to touch us even now,” the family said. “This moment allows us to bring closure, to honor his memory completely, and to grant him the peace and dignity he deserves.”

Após dois anos em cativeiro na Faixa de Gaza, Alon Ohel foi libertado há pouco mais de duas semanas, no recente acordo de cessar-fogo entre Israel e Hamas. Seu pai, Kobi Ohel, contou em entrevista à rádio Galei Tzahal que o filho não quer ser chamado de “sobrevivente do cativeiro”, recusando uma possível identidade de vítima, porque deseja ser um símbolo de esperança. Ele quer ser conhecido por sua força e superação, e não pelo cativeiro.

Durante seu período na Faixa de Gaza, Alon viu imagens de uma manifestação em apoio aos reféns, nas quais desconhecidos seguravam sua foto. A cena o comoveu profundamente e o motivou a resistir. “Se eles não desistiram de mim, eu também não desistirei de mim mesmo”, pensou ele na época.

Em 27 de outubro, após exames médicos, Alon recebeu alta do Hospital Beilinson e agradeceu ao povo de Israel e a todos que trabalharam por sua libertação.

Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) uncovered that the Palestinian Authority quietly paid stipends to terrorists and families of “martyrs” despite Mahmoud Abbas’s February 2025 decree claiming to end the practice.

Screenshots shared by PMW show recipients discussing the deposits, partial payments matching what PA civil servants recently received. No public announcement. No transparency. Just quiet continuity.

For years, this system known as “pay for slay” has rewarded those who murder or attack Israelis with monthly salaries and benefits for their families, amounting to tens of millions of dollars each year.

Europe applauded Abbas’s supposed reform months ago. Now we see what it really was: a delay, not a change.
