A University College London (UCL), no Reino Unido, expulsou uma pesquisadora após ela ensinar a estudantes uma calúnia medieval antissemita conhecida como "libelo de sangue", a falsa acusação de que judeus usariam sangue de crianças não judias em rituais. A iniciativa, planejada ao longo de anos e implementada de forma discreta, marca um ponto de virada na gestão hídrica do país: pela primeira vez, água produzida a partir do Mediterrâneo é usada para recuperar um lago cuja estabilidade é vital para comunidades do norte e para o sistema nacional de abastecimento.

O processo, conduzido pela Autoridade das Águas, está elevando gradualmente o nível do lago e reativando riachos que haviam secado após anos de estiagens severas. O fluxo inicial é de 1.000 metros cúbicos por hora, volume que pode ser ampliado para até 2.000, dependendo das chuvas e da disponibilidade de água dessalinizada. Estudos científicos indicam que o impacto ecológico tende a ser mínimo, mas autoridades seguem monitorando possíveis alterações na salinidade e o equilíbrio ambiental do lago, que recentemente voltou a registrar faixas de areia antes submersas.

A operação simboliza mais do que uma solução técnica para um problema local: representa o avanço de Israel em enfrentar, com inovação, desafios que já afetam todo o Oriente Médio. Em um cenário de mudanças climáticas, escassez hídrica e instabilidade regional, a capacidade de transformar água do mar em segurança estratégica se torna cada vez mais central. O projeto do Mar da Galileia aponta para um futuro em que países que investem em tecnologia e gestão eficiente terão melhores condições de resistir às pressões climáticas, enquanto aqueles que ignorarem o problema ficarão mais vulneráveis a crises ambientais, sociais e geopolíticas.

Segundo fontes ouvidas pelo Times of Israel, Tabatabai era uma figura central no fortalecimento militar do grupo.

O ataque teria atingido o subúrbio de Haret Hreik, no sul da capital libanesa — área tradicionalmente associada a Hezbollah. A ação israelense faz parte da estratégia de impedir que o grupo terrorista libanês se rearme e volte a fazer ataques constantes contra Israel.

Após o massacre realizado pelo Hamas no sul de Israel, em 7 de outubro de 2023, o Hezbollah atacou o território israelense em diversas ocasiões. Um cessar-fogo entre as duas partes está em vigor desde novembro de 2024.
