O jovem israelense Evyatar David foi sequestrado pelo grupo terrorista Hamas em 7 de outubro de 2023, ficando em cativeiro por mais de dois anos, sendo liberto apenas em outubro de 2025, após o mais recente acordo de cessar-fogo entre Israel e Hamas, mediado pelos Estados Unidos .

Poucos dias antes de sair do cativeiro, Evyatar teve um vídeo seu publicado pelo Hamas, no qual aparecia desnutrido e cavando a própria cova. As imagens chocaram o mundo e mostraram, mais uma vez, a crueldade do Hamas. Acreditava-se, inclusive, que ele não sobreviveria.

Agora livre, ele tem redescoberto o prazer e a liberdade de viver coisas simples do cotidiano, como viajar, ver um jogo ou simplesmente sair com amigos. Em suas redes sociais, ele tem celebrado com alegria a sua liberdade.

O que é ainda mais grave é o fato de isso seguir acontecendo, incoerentemente, mesmo no contexto do cessar-fogo entre Israel e Hamas. No caso do Noah, que assumiu sua homossexualidade em 2023, o antissemitismo do público pesa também pelo fato de vir de pessoas progressistas, que, supostamente, deveriam defendê-lo.

British-Jewish playwright Sir Tom Stoppard died yesterday at the age of 88.

Stoppard was born in Czechoslovakia and fled Nazi persecution as a child. Though he only discovered the full extent of his Jewish heritage later in life, it became a profound part of his identity and artistic journey.
His final play, Leopoldstadt, stands as a powerful tribute to Jewish memory and resilience. Through it, he honoured the families lost in the Holocaust, including his own.

We honour his legacy as a literary giant and as a voice of remembrance. May his memory forever be a blessing. 🕯️

O cantor canadense Shawn Mendes anunciou a sua participação em um evento nos EUA, previsto para 2026, que objetiva arrecadar ajuda humanitária para crianças palestinas e sudanesas.

A ação é positiva, e a ajuda é, de fato, importante, especialmente por lembrar de um país que recebe pouca atenção internacional: o Sudão. Todavia, é preocupante o fato de que a agenda tem entre um de seus organizadores a Bella Hadid, modelo conhecida por seu longo histórico de antissemitismo. Além disso, parte do que for arrecadado irá para a ONG Palestinian Children's Relief Fund, que administrava um hospital na Faixa de Gaza que foi um dos muitos usados pelo Hamas como base militar.

Por mais que seja legítima a preocupação com as crianças palestinas e a reconstrução da Faixa de Gaza, é necessário ter cautela a fim de que os recursos não sejam desviados pelo Hamas, o qual ainda busca se manter no poder. Este é um momento de vigilância e cuidado acerca de para onde as ajudas serão enviadas e como serão administradas.

Na última quarta-feira (26), uma nova pesquisa apresentada na conferência anual "Israelis in Europe Against Antisemitism" mostrou que quase 65% dos israelenses que vivem no continente se sentem menos seguros desde o massacre de 7 de Outubro. O relatório reflete o aumento expressivo do antissemitismo atualmente e motivou reações de organizações como a Comunidade Israelense na Europa (ICE) e o Movimento de Combate ao Antissemitismo (CAM), que organizaram a conferência para discutir o tema.

O estudo aponta ainda um declínio acentuado na sensação de segurança pessoal e revela que 70% dos entrevistados testemunharam ou sofreram incidentes antissemitas após os ataques terroristas do Hamas no Sul de Israel. Muitos passaram a evitar símbolos israelenses ou judaicos em espaços públicos.

Maya Wolfberg, diretora do Departamento de Antissemitismo e Memória do Holocausto do ICE, afirmou: "Para mim, esta conferência não é apenas um evento, é um processo, tanto pessoal quanto coletivo". Ela acrescentou: "Como neta de sobreviventes do Holocausto que vivenciaram o período estando escondidos, é difícil aceitar que hoje existam israelenses e judeus na Europa que sintam a necessidade de se esconder por causa de sua identidade".

November 29th, 2025, should have been Shani Gabay’s 28th birthday, but her life was stolen by hate.

On October 7, 2023, Shani was at the Nova Festival in southern Israel when the Hamas massacre erupted. Initially, her family believed that she had been kidnapped into Gaza, as her remains could not be located.

Forty-eight days later, Shani’s family received devastating news: Shani had been murdered that day and her remains had been accidentally buried with those of another young woman. During the massacre, Shani and others had taken shelter in an ambulance that was brutally targeted by Hamas RPGs, murdering everyone inside.

May Shani’s memory forever be a blessing. 🕯️
