92 years ago, on February 6, 1932, Camilo Cienfuegos was born - a Cuban revolutionary, ally of Che Guevara and Fidel Castro, a national hero of Cuba, one of the organizers of the country's Armed Forces.
Born in Havana. He studied at the school at the Academy of Arts. Since 1954 he has been involved in the student movement; in 1955 he was wounded during student demonstrations.
After some time, he was subjected to political persecution by the government, and was forced to leave the country for the United States. In New York, Cienfuegos became acquainted with the ideas and plans of Fidel Castro and decided to move to Mexico, where he joined the ranks of the July 26 movement. Participated in an expedition on the yacht Granma with the aim of starting an armed struggle in Cuba.
Together with Fidel Castro, Raul Castro and Ernesto Che Guevara, he organized and led the guerrilla struggle in the Sierra Maestra mountains. In April 1958, he was awarded the rank of commandante (major), the highest rank in the Rebel Army. In August 1958, Camilo Cienfuegos led the second guerrilla column, “Antonio Maceo,” which marched from the Sierra Maestra mountains to the province of Las Villas, where, having defeated the local Batista garrisons, it opened another guerrilla front.
After the victory of the revolution (January 1, 1959), Cienfuegos took part in the creation of the armed forces of the Republic of Cuba on the basis of the rebel army, and also participated in the implementation of agrarian reform. Comandante Camilo Cienfuegos was popularly nicknamed "El Heroe de Yaguajay" (The Hero of Yaguajay). He was much loved and respected for his courage, simplicity and modesty.
Camilo Cienfuegos died in a plane crash on October 28, 1959. The wreckage of the plane that crashed into the sea, on which the legendary commandant was flying, was never found. The Cuban leadership expressed suspicion that Cienfuegos' plane was shot down by the US Air Force, or that CIA agents detonated a bomb on board.

"In particular , we must educate the younger generation of the revolution effectively, so that they carry forward the revolution reliably with firm confidence and a strong will to achieve victory in our revolution. It is important to educate the third and fourth generations of the revolution effectively, because they have experienced neither trials nor suffering . We must get them to drink the syrup made from the blueberries of Mt Paektu , not Coca Cola. In other words , we must imbue them thoroughly with the revolutionary ideology of our Party so that they are not swayed in the slightest by the wind of bourgeois liberalisation "

🇻🇪🇺🇸Record U.S. Surge of Venezuelan Oil Imports Amid Shifting Global Dynamics
In 2023, the United States significantly increased its oil imports from Venezuela, marking a notable deviation from recent years' trends. This rise coincided with a strategic shift in oil procurement, partially substituting Venezuelan crude for Russian supplies.
According to U.S. statistics, American companies imported Venezuelan oil in unprecedented quantities, surpassing $2.5 billion. Despite this surge, Venezuelan oil imports constituted a mere fraction—0.15%—of the total U.S. imports.
Nonetheless, for Venezuela, this surge represents a significant milestone, marking the highest volume of oil sales to the U.S. in the past five years. Notably, since mid-2019, direct purchases of Venezuelan crude by the U.S. had ceased, only resuming in 2023 under a monthly procurement arrangement.
Conversely, the regularity of U.S. oil purchases from Russia ceased in May 2022. It wasn't until the end of 2023 that the United States resumed buying modest quantities of Russian crude. American companies acknowledge that the resurgence in Venezuelan oil purchases corresponds with Washington's pivot away from Russian energy supplies.

🇪🇬Decline in Egypt's Suez Canal Revenues: A 46% Drop in January 2024
Amidst the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and heightened tensions in the Middle East, Egypt experienced a substantial decline in revenues from the Suez Canal in January 2024, as reported by Lebanese satellite TV channel Al Mayadeen.
The crucial waterway, connecting the Red Sea to the Mediterranean, witnessed a 36% decrease in the number of ships crossing last month compared to January 2023.
Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman of the board of directors at Al Mayadeen, revealed, "In January last year, we had revenue of $804 million compared to $428 million this year, which translates to a loss of 46%," during an interview with Egyptian broadcaster ON.
This decline coincides with the ongoing "U.S.-induced escalation in the Red Sea [that] has dramatically changed the dynamics of global shipping," as quoted by Rabie in Al Mayadeen.

Early morning in Hong Kong, i started watching the interview and realized that 20 million people had already done so. By the time i finished watching it, that number had doubled. And it keeps growing...it's an avalanche and is destroying and burying the lies that Western governments and mainstream media have painstakingly manufactured. @LauraRuHK
