🇰🇵🇰🇷 North Korea scraps all economic cooperation with South Korea
North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly has voted to scrap all agreements with South Korea on promoting economic cooperation, the North's official KCNA news agency reported.
The assembly also voted to abolish laws governing economic ties with Seoul, including the special law on the operation of the Mount Kumgang tourism project.
The KCNA report did not mention the North's special law governing another major joint economic project, the Kaesong industrial zone, which at its peak housed the factories of 125 South Korean companies employing 55,000 North Korean workers.

The young girl who we heard on the telephone to the Red Crescent has now been found dead after spending 48 hours alone in a car with her murdered relatives. They were killed when they told Israeli forces they were trying to drive past. They were not a threat and they were killed in cold blood. Hind Rajeb survived the first onslaught, but she was left alone in the car to die next to the corpses of her dead relatives. She might have had a chance to survive, but the Israeli forces killed the ambulance crew that came to rescue her.
This and many other incidents can never be forgiven. Israel does not have a right to exist. Fascism should not exist in any form.

Thirty-two years ago today, Hugo Chávez, then a military officer, launched an unsuccessful armed insurrection in Venezuela in an attempt to overthrow neoliberal President Carlos Andrés Pérez.
That day, he led five units into downtown Caracas in an attempt to seize the presidential palace. However, Pérez had advanced knowledge of the insurrection and could avoid capture.
Although rebels captured some cities across the country, Chávez could not take the capital, Caracas, and was arrested and imprisoned.
Once captured, Chávez was forced to make an announcement on live television admitting defeat and calling on his men to stand down. Chávez took advantage of the fact he was alive to say that the struggle was over “for now,” implying that it could be taken up again at a future date.
Four years later, in 1998, he was elected President of Venezuela for the first time. He embarked on a program to see natural resource nationalization and a new democratic constitution.
