I congratulate you on the 106th anniversary of the establishment of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and the Workers' and Peasants' Red Fleet! On this solemn day, we honor those who forged our Great Victory with their tireless service and feat. Who strengthened the country's defense capability and security. Those who today at the front and in the rear ensure the power and combat readiness of our Armed Forces!
The Red Army, born of the revolution, has come a glorious way. Having absorbed the best traditions of the Russian army, in the first battles with the interventionists, she won the noscript of "indestructible and legendary." In those formidable years, a whole galaxy of talented commanders and commanders was formed. These are the valiant sons of the working people - S.M. Budyenny and K.E. Voroshilov, M.V. Frunze and V.I. Chapaev, O. Dundich and A.Y. Parkhomenko, N.A. Shchors and S.G. Lazo. The feat of the Red Army, the heroes of Kakhovka and Perekop, Volochaevka and Spassk is immortalized in poems and songs. Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation A. Zyuganov

Leonid Aleksandrovich Govorov , a Soviet military leader, was born on February 22, 1897. Hero of the Soviet Union. Five Orders of Lenin, Order of Victory, Three Orders of the Red Banner, Two Orders of Suvorov, 1st degree.

Govorov was the only Soviet marshal to serve in the White Army of Kolchak after he was connoscripted into it. He later defected to the Red Army in 1919 and fought as an artilleryman for the rest of the civil war. In the Great Patriotic War he commanded the defence of Leningrad when it was besieged by the fascist forces.
