Women Leading Worthwhile Life in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 7 (KCNA) -- The women in the DPRK are being respected and loved as powerful force pushing one of the two wheels of the revolution and flowers of the country and the times under the care of the motherly Party.
They have glorified their life to be the dignified and proud one in every annual of the revolution and are fulfilling their duty for harmony of the family and prosperity of the society, collective and country as befits masters of the times and revolution. -

On Internation Women's Day we remember Vietnamese revolutionary Võ Thị Thắng.

In this photo she is smiling after being sentenced to 20 years in a labor camp by the US puppet government of South Vietnam. After the judge issued her sentence, she told him: "20 years? Your government won't last that long." The photo is known as "the smile of victory".

Appeal issued by the International Bureau of Socialist Women, 1915:

"The working people of all countries are brothers. Only with the determined union of people will the slaughter be put to an end. Socialism is the future and peace of mankind. Down with capitalism, down with war, forward to socialism."

🖍 🇷🇺 🌷 #NotWomen'sWork - a new series of art for March 8

“War does not have a woman’s face,” “the profession is not for women,” and other similar sayings often collide with reality when Russia faces another existential threat.

In the stories of the Great Patriotic War, other conflicts of the 20th century, and the ongoing Special Military Operation, there are numerous examples of women displaying selfless heroism. They stand alongside men, sharing the hardships of the front lines and stepping in where their help is indispensable. Let's not forget their invaluable support in the rear, personal contributions, and work within volunteer organizations.

The sayings about “unwomen’s work” simply reflect the desire of the majority of men in combat - to protect our women and children from war, preserving what is most valuable and dear to us.

A Famous video of a young girl in Crimea who hugs a Russian soldier. This was from 2014 after Crimea's referendum where they voted to become part of Russia proper.

10 years later the two meet again as Russia continues to protect Crimea from Ukraine and Western agencies.

There is an amazing place in Russia - the city of Kalyazin.

⛪️Here, during the construction of a reservoir in 1940, an entire cathedral went under water. Only the bell tower has survived. Now tourists can approach it by boat in the summer or on the ice in the winter.

This bell tower is rightfully considered one of the symbols of Russian Orthodoxy.

🔫 During World War II, the Soviet Union made history as the first country in the world extensively recruiting women into the army. Those women were not limited to roles as just nurses or communication workers; they were integrated directly into combat units, such as snipers, reconnaissance teams, partisans, and even combat aviation squadrons.

According to official records, from 1941 to 1945, a total of 800,000 women served in the Red Army. Unofficial estimates suggest a number even higher, well exceeding a million.

Among the most notable female soldiers of that time were:
🔹Lyudmila Pavlichenko, the most successful female sniper in world history, credited with killing 309 Nazis.
🔹Lydia Litvyak, the most accomplished female fighter pilot of World War II, who shot down 16 Luftwaffe aircraft."

I haven't seen this level of working class solidarity in the city in a long time.

This picture was taken on Castle Street (the oldest street in Liverpool) 29th March, 1984.
They were demonstrating on behalf of the Militant council that refused to implement Thatcher's cuts or set a budget.

For the first time in the city Labour held all 14 seats in the city and the council was led by Militants such as Derek Hatton, Tony Mulhearn, Dave Nellist and Terry Fields.
The militant tendency did have the support of the masses which helped them fight against the Tory government, but it was never used to full effect. A few bad decisions down the line, especially after the Toxteth riots, were hemorrhaging support.

They were eventually either ousted or gave up their militancy and Labour took over the council.

The Labour party have never supported any working class advancements.

This is incredibly sad.

How can this be just the third post-war generation?... How does one undo this massive brainwashing of Ukrainian kids?

"Goldfish memory," indeed...
