“The state emblem of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics consists of a hammer and sickle on a globe, depicted in the rays of the sun and framed by ears of corn, with the innoscription in the languages of the union republics: “Workers of all countries, unite!” At the top of the coat of arms there is a five-pointed star” (Constitution of the USSR 1936, Article 143).
