The rush to destroy the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia began as soon as counter-revolution had taken hold in the USSR.

Formerly valued as a counterweight to the Soviet bloc in Europe, a strong and independent Yugoslavia in 1991 became the imperialists’ primary target.
