Farmers of Songhak Farm of DPRK Move into New Houses
Pyongyang, May 31 (KCNA) -- New villages showing the beautiful future of the countryside have been built at the Songhak Farm in Anju City, South Phyongan Province of the DPRK.
The fairyland-like villages where single- and low-storied and terraced houses were built with the modern, cultural and diverse characters embodied, are a cradle of happiness brought about by the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea to make the agricultural workers lead a worthwhile life and feel joy of labour while enjoying socialist civilization to their heart's content.

🇲🇽 Woman mayor shot dead in Mexico
The mayor of a town in western Mexico was killed on Monday, the regional government said, barely 24 hours after Claudia Sheinbaum was elected the Latin American country's first woman president.
The Michoacan state government condemned "the murder of the municipal president (mayor) of Cotija, Yolanda Sanchez Figueroa," the regional interior ministry said in a post on social media.
Sanchez, who was elected mayor in 2021 elections, was gunned down on a public road, according to local media.

🇹🇷 Turkey has expressed a desire to join BRICS instead of the EU, of which it has been a candidate member since 1999.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan believes that this could be "a good alternative to the EU," reports the South China Morning Post.
"Of course, we would like to become a member of BRICS. Let's see how things go this year," Fidan said during a visit to China.
Ankara intends to participate in the BRICS ministers' meeting in Russia next week. It is expected that Turkey's membership will be one of the topics of discussion.
Fidan stated that the EU has not allowed Turkey to become a full member due to "identity politics," "so we have to look for other alternatives."
Peskov has already stated that Russia welcomes Turkey's desire.
