During the plenary session of the annual 'Russian Energy Week' forum, President Vladimir Putin announced that the progress of constructing a Russian nuclear power plant at El-Dabaa in Egypt is surpassing the anticipated schedule.

Burkina Faso's government has confirmed that an agreement has been reached between Moscow and Ouagadougou for the construction of a nuclear power plant to address the energy requirements of the country's population. The confirmation came last Friday, when Burkina Faso's energy minister, Simon-Pierre Boussim, participated in Russian Energy Week in Moscow.

The deal is part of Burkina Faso's target to achieve 95% electricity access for urban areas and 50% for rural areas by 2030.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the relations between Russia and North Korea have reached unprecedented levels during his significant two-day visit to Pyongyang.

Addressing a gathering with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui on Thursday, Lavrov announced that the recent summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un provided ample evidence that the bilateral relationship had attained an entirely fresh, strategic dimension.

Commenting on the actions of the US and its regional allies, Lavrov pointed out that “we are countering this unconstructive and dangerous line with a policy of ensuring de-escalation here and preventing tensions.”

Russia seeks regular talks with China, North Korea to confront US threats: Lavrov

During his visit to Pyongyang, Lavrov handed Kim Jong-un a letter from Putin, which confirmed his readiness to implement previously reached agreements between the two countries. Apparently, these are very important agreements, if Lavrov personally conveyed the message.
