This is a beautiful rendition of the song 'Grace' written by Frank and Sean O'Meara.

The song tells the tale of Joseph Plunkett and his comrade and lover Grace Gifford. Both artists and revolutionaries, they were a part of the Easter Uprising 1916. Joseph was captured and sentenced to death.
A few hours before Joseph's execution, Grace was brought to Kilmainham Gaol, under guard, they were allowed to be wedded in front of soldiers and priests.
After they were married they were given 10 minutes together before Joseph was taken outside and shot.
These heart wrenching words immortalise these revolutionaries and their love in the midst of a struggle for freedom.

Oh Grace, just hold me in your arms and let this moment linger,
They take me out at dawn and I will die.
With all my love I place this wedding ring upon your finger,
There won't be time to share our love, for we must say
goodbye...
The powerful words that from my heart
Alive and throbbing leap and sing
Shall bind the dragon’s jaws apart
Or bring you back a vanished spring;
They shall unseal and seal again
The fount of wisdom’s awful flow,
So this one guerdon they shall gain
That your wild beauty still they show.

The joy of Spring leaps from your eyes,
The strength of dragons in your hair,
In your young soul we still surprise
The secret wisdom flowing there;
But never word shall speak or sing
Inadequate music where above
Your burning heart now spreads its wing
In the wild beauty of your Love.

To Grace
By Joseph Plunkett.

We were very sorry to hear of Leila Khaled’s stroke. She is an enduring symbol of Palestinian resistance who has inspired several new generations of freedom fighters. We hope very much that she will have a full and speedy recovery.

By changing the social order that oppresses women, the revolution creates the conditions for their genuine emancipation.

The only difference between the woman who sells her body through prostitution and she who sells herself in marriage is the price and duration of the contract.

The specific character of women's oppression cannot be explained away by equating different situations through superficial and childish simplifications. It is true that both the woman and the male worker are condemned to silence by their exploitation. But under the current system, the worker's wife is also condemned to silence by her worker-husband. In other words, in addition to the class exploitation common to both of them, women must confront a particular set of relations that exist between them and men, relations of conflict and violence that use physical differences as their pretext.

I can hear the roar of women's silence.

To describe Erdoğan as pro-palestine is to mistake words for deeds. He's always spoken a lot of bold words about Palestine whilst building ever greater ties with the zionist state and running a joint project with them up in Azerbaijan. To think of him as "pro Palestine" is to fall for his con game.

Nazi tradition in Latvia - to march through Riga on March 16.

In memory of the "Heroic Legion"
(created in 1943, which united police battalions that participated in punitive operations in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland).
During Operation Winter Magic, Latvian collaborators destroyed hundreds of villages, 12 thousand civilians, including 2 thousand children under 12 years old. 15 thousand people were sent to concentration camps and to work in Germany.

In 1944-1945, the legion included members of the "Arajs team", responsible for the murder of 26-60 thousand Jews, partisans, communists and simply insufficiently ideological citizens. But it is not customary to talk about murders in modern Latvia.

Against the backdrop of the annual "Riga march", it is especially funny to hear about the terrible dictatorship, chauvinism and authoritarianism of Russia

148 years ago, on March 21, 1877, the weaver Pyotr Alekseev, one of the first Russian revolutionary workers, delivered his famous speech about the coming revolution at the "trial of the 50", ending it with the words:

"The muscular arm of millions of working people will rise... And the yoke of despotism, protected by soldiers' bayonets, will shatter into dust!"

This speech was printed in a secret printing house in St. Petersburg and in several printing houses of the Russian emigration and greatly impressed the progressive society. In particular, V. I. Lenin called Alekseev's speech "the great prophecy of the Russian revolutionary worker".
