The devastating images coming out of Gaza have chilling echoes of the 1948 Nakba (Arabic for catastrophe) when Israel was established on the rubble of Palestinian towns, villages, and cities.
Then, the Israeli military forcefully expelled over 750,000 Palestinians and captured 78 percent of historic Palestine. It destroyed 530 villages and killed over 15,000 Palestinians in a series of mass atrocities, including dozens of massacres.
Like in 1948, today, Israel is destroying villages and towns across Gaza. Like in 1948, Israel is creating mass atrocities and killing thousands of Palestinians. They are also trying to grab land just as they did in 1948.
Those displaced in the Nakba have never returned. Today, there are nearly 7 million Palestinian refugees around the world.
The images of Palestinians fleeing from the North of Gaza today are hauntingly similar to those seen in 1948. That is why many Palestinians say this isn’t just history repeating itself; it is the continuation of a Nakba that never ended.

Statement from Israeli MK Ofer Cassif on recent escalation of Zionist terrorism in the West Bank:
“While international attention is focused on Gaza and the south of Israel, the settlers are taking advantage of the situation and escalating the violence against the Palestinians in the West Bank with the aim of ethnically cleansing entire populations of Palestinians by force.
The Jewish rioters resort to severe violence and threaten to murder the Palestinian residents. Some of them are soldiers who attack Palestinians with firearms in their possession from military service. Nine communities of shepherds have already fled their homes in mortal fear of the terror of the settlers and many more will be forced to flee in the coming days if immediate measures are not taken. Currently - the army and the police do not intervene and thus support the Jewish terrorists, sometimes actively.
Just yesterday (Saturday, 28.10.23) Bilal Salah was murdered by while picking olives by a settler, a soldier on leave. At night, armed settlers posing as Israeli soldiers raided the village of Susia, entered the houses at gunpoint, attacked children and women and issued an ultimatum: vacate your homes within 24 hours or we will come back and murder you all.
This is a call of urgency! Stop the war crimes before it's too late! Free the Palestinian people from the shackles of occupation, siege and assaults!”

🇺🇦 After his visit to the United States, Zelensky appeared to be in a "sour" mood, as reported by TIME magazine, citing sources within the president's inner circle.
Zelensky seemed to have lost his usual optimism, sense of humor, and the tendency to liven up a military briefing with jokes. "Now he comes in, gets the news, gives orders, and leaves," says one of his longtime team members.
Another member of his inner circle reveals that Zelensky feels abandoned by his Western allies. They have left him with the means to survive the war but not to win it.
Nevertheless, Zelensky remains resolute in his commitment to continue the fight, and his "faith in Ukraine's ultimate victory over Russia has taken a form that worries some of his advisers." It has become "unshakable" and borders on messianic. "He's deceiving himself. We have no options. We are not winning. But try telling him that," one of the president's closest aides told the publication.
