Happy ACAB day! Our award for the biggest cop fail of 2023 goes to the German police for their embarrassment at the hands of environmental protesters in Lützerath protesting against the construction of new lignite mines.
Nature seemed to be on the side of the protesters as the heavy police uniforms got stuck in the mud as the cops tumbled over each other which made for some embarrassing photos. What other cop-fails from 2023 should be highlighted?

Officials from Western countries are reportedly in talks about the possible ousting of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, as stated by Sergey Naryshkin, the head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), on Monday.
Additionally, Naryshkin asserted that the contemplation of a substitute for Zelensky stemmed from his failure to deliver on pledges to overcome Russia in combat, the prevalent corruption within Ukraine, and his perceived disregard in handling foreign backers.
Likely choices being discussed include Valery Zaluzhny, the chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, Kirill Budanov, head of military intelligence, Andrey Ermak, in charge of the president’s office, and possibly even Vitaly Klitschko, the mayor of Kiev and former boxer.

147 years ago, on December 18th 1876, the first political demonstration under the red flag in Russia took place on the square of the Kazan Cathedral in St. Petersburg. In history it is known as the Kazan demonstration .
The demonstration was organized and carried out by populists from Land and Freedom and members of workers' circles associated with them. About 400 people gathered in the square. G.V. Plekhanov delivered a passionate revolutionary speech to the audience. The young worker named Potapov unfurled a red flag, which became a symbol of the revolutionary movement.
The demonstration was dispersed by the police. 31 demonstrators were arrested, 5 of whom were sentenced to 10-15 years of hard labor, 10 were sentenced to exile in Siberia, and three workers, including Y. Potapov, were sentenced to imprisonment for 5 years in a monastery.
The Kazan demonstration marked the beginning of the conscious participation of the Russian working class in the social movement. Anti-government rallies, demonstrations, and May Day meetings took place under red banners.
In 1898, the red flag became the flag of the RSDLP.
In 1917, the red flag became the flag of the new Soviet State.

Throughout the summer, there was consistent movement of concrete mixers and trucks carrying crushed stone through populated areas in the northern direction of the Volyn region.
