Great meeting with @TheCCUL to discuss the future of credit unions and the critical role they play in eastern North Carolina. Credit unions meet people where they are—providing financial security, access to credit, and opportunities for families, small businesses, and rural communities. Proud to support their mission!

Stephen Hoggard is a Wayne County resident who served our country on active duty in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years.
Stephen is a dedicated and passionate Veterans Service Officer (VSO) at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston. In this critical role, he assists veterans with understanding their benefits and filing claims to ensure they receive the support they deserve. As the primary VSO at the state home, he manages all claims and oversees admitting veterans into the facility.
Stephen's dedication also goes beyond his official duties. When veterans pass away without family or friends, he ensures they receive a respectful burial and funeral service. His unwavering commitment makes a meaningful impact on the lives of those who have served our country, and we are grateful.

On #InternationalWomensDay, we are proud to celebrate the incredible women of eastern North Carolina who are leading, inspiring, and strengthening our communities. Their resilience and contributions make NC-01 a better place for all. Today and every day, we must keep pushing for equality and opportunity.
A delegation of U.S. House Armed Services Committee members visited Naval Station Guantanamo Bay and it was an eye-opening experience. Understanding the deportation process firsthand is crucial for informing my decisions. I came away not only with a better perspective but also with a deeper appreciation for the service members and federal workers who work tirelessly to safeguard the American people.
Eastern North Carolina’s farmers, rural communities, and hardworking families deserve policies that protect our land, support local economies, and invest in our future. That’s why we’re cosponsoring key legislation to strengthen our district.
▪️H.R. 620, the Foreign Adversary Risk Management Act, protects North Carolina’s farmers and agricultural supply chains from foreign influence. By ensuring that NC farmland is owned and operated by American farmers, we safeguard our food security and economic independence.
▪️H.R. 575, the Increased TSP Access Act of 2025, makes it easier for our farmers and rural communities to access essential conservation assistance from local partners. By expanding support for farmers, ranchers, and forest owners, this bill promotes place-based strategies that work for Eastern North Carolina’s agricultural economy.
▪️H.R. 1246, the Investing in Rural America Act, prioritizes economic growth, infrastructure improvements, and essential community investments to unlock the full potential of our rural communities. Stronger rural economies mean stronger families, businesses, and futures.
