Statement by the Network for International Friendship, organizers of the Working Brigades:

"We condemn the KDPs collaboration with Turkey, instead of serving the benefit of the people of the region. We condemn KDPs hostility towards Rojava and the Freedom Movement. We stand in solidarity with the people in all parts of Kurdistan struggling for their basic human rights.
For this reason we renew our call for everybody to participate in the next Working Brigade in mid-July to celebrate together the 10th anniversary of the Rojava-Revolution! Let us together break the embargo and together work communally for a better life!"

The internationalist alliances “Women Defend Rojava” and “Defend Kurdistan ” together with the feminist organization “Fight Together! For self-determination and democratic autonomy” published an urgent appeal for solidarity and actions in defense of the people of Kurdistan and the revolution in Rojava:

"It is unacceptable that the media and world public watch in silence as a war of annihilation is waged against the Kurds! The Turkish state is increasingly showing its fascist face, making the possibility of a political solution to the conflict increasingly remote. There is no longer a free press, tens of thousands of members of the opposition are in prison, and elections are being rigged. At this moment in three parts of Kurdistan simultaneous military attacks by Turkey are taking place at an extremely high level.

No state, company or institution should maintain good relations with this Turkish government. Germany is currently Turkey’s most important political and economic partner.
Together with Defend Kurdistan and Women Defend Rojava, we are calling for a decentralized day of action on June 11, 2022.

Fight together with the people in Kurdistan against war, imperialism and patriarchy and for a gender-free, self-determined, ecological life – another world is possible!”

The 1st International Working Brigade has published a statement offering new perspectives on their journey and show the will to challenge the Embargo imposed on Rojava/AANES

"We call on all internationalists and democratic people of the world to support the Revolution and to struggle for peace in Kurdistan. We commit to further actions to break the embargo. For this purpose, there will be a second Internationalist Working Brigade next month to follow our steps and as many as are needed to break the embargo. Despite the fact we were stopped, we did not fail. This is just one part of the immense struggle against fascism, militarism and patriarchy. We will never stop our efforts to build a free life. Even though it has become quiet in the media, the attacks on Rojava/North- & Eastern Syria continue. Drone strikes, artillery attacks and infiltrations take place daily. The threat of a large-scale incursion remains.

UPDATE July 7th
On July 6th the Autonomous Administration of North- & Eastern Syria (AANES) declared a full state of emergency on the entire region. Bodies, committees and Institutions of AANES are hold to prepare of contingency plans to deal with threats and challenges. This comes after weeks of increasing attacks by Turkish forces and their Islamist mercenaries on designated areas for announced incursion.
Meanwhile troop deployments by SNA forces in the occupied areas north of Tel Rifaat were documented. Yesterday a Turkish troop convoy entered the occupied areas through the Bab al-Salama and al-Rai border crossing, carriying heavy weapons, tanks & armored vehicles.
Russia and the Damascus regime have lately reinforced troops around Kobane and at the Qamişlo airport, supposedly to protect the area from Turkish attacks. However, the areas are not designated as immediate targets for Turkish attacks.

A Turkish delegation will visit Iran on July 19th. It can be expected that a discussion of Turkish invasion plans will be on the agenda for the meeting. The date also marks the 10th anniversary of the Revolution in Rojava.
The threat level for Turkish incursion in North- & Eastern Syria remains high and latest troop movements indicate that we are getting closer to Day X.
