Attacks on Shengal
Shengal saw again massive drone surveillance in the last weeks. On Aug 29th a drone struck a car close to Xanesor. Turkish terror & pressure from the Iraqi government are intended to make the Yezidis leave their homeland. A downright propaganda campaign conveys the image that Shengal is lost, will again become a target of terrorism and that it is easy to go to Europe. This is accompanied by advertising for human smugglers. The reason for all this is that since the liberation from ISIS, the Yezidis have been self-governing and have built up their own self-defense forces. They vehemently refuse to be subjugated by the very forces that left them defenseless to ISIS in 2014.
Makhmur
Shortly before the attack on Shengal, the father of 6 children was killed by a Turkish drone. This renewed brutal attack on civilians, residents of a refugee camp, sparked angry protests that were met with the firing of live ammunition by Iraqi security forces stationed nearby. The Makhmur camp is a frequent target of Turkish aggression and, with its nearly 30 years of socialist self-government, is a thorn in the side of the region's powers.
In Rojava the attacks by the Turkish state continued on various levels. Repeatedly villages in the regions of Shehba, Ain Issa and on the Til Temir frontline were targeted with artillery.
YPJ Retalliation
According to the ANF news agency, five Turkish soldiers were killed in an action by YPJ forces in retaliation for the killing of four girls at a United Nations-funded education center for young girls in Heseke. The attack took place near the village of Kefîfa (Ain Issa province) and was carried out with rockets fired at the Turkish base.

Anti ISIS operations
For the past 10 days, security forces in the region have been conducting an operation against ISIS sleeper cells in AL-Hol camp. The camp is home to about 50,000 former ISIS fighters and their families. The organization is still active in the camp, recruiting, indoctrinating children and killing deviants.
During the operation, more than 100 suspected terrorists were arrested, numerous tunnels and hideouts were uncovered, and ammunition and larger amounts of explosives were seized. The outcomings so far prove the fact that ISIS is still a threat. On August 3, the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) succeeded in freeing an 18-year-old Yazidi woman who was among the thousands of Yazidi girls and women kidnapped by ISIS during its attack on the Yazidi religious minority in the Shingal region on August 3, 2014.

RheinmetallEntwaffnen
In the last days the protest camp of the alliance Rheinmetall Entwaffnen (Disarm Rheinmetall) took place. The highlight of the 5-day event with seminars, strategy discussion and action was a blockade of the weapons manufacturer Krauss-Maffei Wegmann . On Friday 200 energetic activists achieved the stop of the production.
We welcome the actions against the profiteers of the business with war. Turkish Fascism is also one of the customers of the German arms manufacturer that must be denounced, disrupted and blocked.
The attacks of Turkish fascism in connection with NATO on the Kurdish freedom movement and the peoples of the Middle East have increased in intensity, the more important are actions that create attention and make it clear that we the societies will not stand idly by while the revolutionary project in Northeast Syria is attacked!

#ISIS is still a threat
Operation "Humanity and Security" of SDF against ISIS sleeper cells in al-Hol Camp continues
Update:
Last week, the attacks on Rojava continued, but not as intensely as in August. Nevertheless, the fascist Turkish forces and their occupation army, the Syrian National Army, continue to shell the Til Temir and Shehba regions with artillery on a daily basis. Til Temir holds a key position in the Turkish occupation plans, as the M4 runs through the small town. The international traffic route is considered the lifeline of northern Syria, as it connects the Euphrates and Cizîrê regions. Occasionally, artillery was also fired at the surrounding areas of Tel Rifaat, Sherewa, Ain Issa, along the M4 and the Ain Issa camp.
As a consequence of attacks in Tel Temir the local power station is again damaged and out of work leaving many villages without electricity. Close to Ain Issa Journalists of ANHA were targeted deliberately after they tried to report on earlier artillery attacks

Erdoğan is expected to travel to Washington in late September to meet with Biden in the context of the UN General Assembly, which begins on September 13. Erdogan will also meet with Putin at Russia's invitation to the Shanghai Cooperation Summit (SCO) on September 15-16. Syria and the autonomous administration of northeastern Syria will definitely be on the agenda at both meetings, and it is likely that the agreements reached will be reflected in the situation on the ground shortly thereafter.
The heaviest week of attacks on Rojava since the invasion of Serekaniyê in 2019 also took place shortly after the meetings between Erdogan, Putin and Iranian President Raisi.
📢Week of action against AXA:
Let's denounce AXA's investments in the Turkish military & thus the war economy in Europe from September 21, the International Day of Peace!

In Turkey, AXA is partner with OYAK, the army pension fund created in 1961 by the military junta in power following a coup. OYAK is the symbol of the power of the army in the Turkish economy.
It is one of the most powerful industrial groups in the country & its main source of income comes from financial investments. OYAK is also known to have opposed AXA’s payment of compensation to descendants of Armenian genocide victims & financing occupation in Palestine.
Turkish fascism is able to go on because of the support it receives internationally. This support is the reason for the continued existence of occupation, exploitation, murder & war in the region. AXA, through its financial support to OYAK, is funding the war in #Rojava.

During the Long March 2022 Kurdish and International youth raised awareness for Turkish War crimes and send their greetings to the revolutionaries resisting Turkish Fascism's war of aggression in the mountains of Southkurdistan.
Since April 14th the Turkish forces wage a brutal war on the Kurdish Freedom Movement. Numerous cases of attacks with chemical weapons were reported since then.
To support the resistance widnet.org created the "Gas Masks for the Guerrilla" campaign. To donate and send gas-masks to Kurdistan send an email to riseup4rojava@riseup.net or read more under widerstandsvernetzung.org/gasmasken/

Protests in Rojhilat & Iran are continuing on 10th day. On the very front of the fights for change: Young Kurdish & Iranian women
Since Sept. 16 protest erupted against the killing of 22yo Kurdish women Jina Amini in Teheran & Rojhelat (Eastern Kurdistan) & spread rapidly to almost all provinces: Protest occurred in over 93 Iranian cities.
Despite facing brutal violence by the state’s forces, so far at least 50 protesters were killed, protest is still spreading. Ethnic minorities in Iran, like Azerbejani, Baloch & Lurs have already joined the protests & calls for an end of the Regime.
All over the the country women are taking of their Headscarfs & cutting of their hair as form of symbolic protest against brutal oppression of women in Iran. The chant “Jin Jiyan Azadî” (Women, Life, Freedom!”) is heard everywhere & proves the influence of the Kurdish Women’s Movement in the region.
The time for the freedom of the people of Iran, for the Kurds, Baloch, Azerbeijan & Lurs has come ✊🏼

People have learned at least 2 things from previous uprisings in Iran:

1) In 2017, it became clear that peaceful protests demanding a change in government will not lead to real change and that a revolution is necessary.
2) In 2019, they realized that protests will face massive violence from the state and that armed struggle will eventually be inevitable.

Jina Amini has become a symbol for the resisting women in Iran and Rojhilat 🌹✊🏼

Jina was arrested for allegedly not wearing hijab in accordance with strict regulations. According to police she "developed heart problems" while in custody & fell into coma. However, documents leaked by Iranian hacktivists prove that she died from numerous blows to the head.
After the murder of the 22-year-old Kurdish woman protests erupted across the country, especially in #Rojhilat, the Kurdish areas occupied by #Iran.
