When I was tasked with creating a blurb that follows the mouse pointer, I approached the problem by breaking it down into smaller components. My goal was to create a div that changes its position relative to the pointer.
To achieve this, I broke the problem down into four steps:
First, I created a div with dummy text and made it appear on top of all its adjacent components using the z-index property.
Second, I needed to detect the position of the mouse pointer when it hovers over the section. I achieved this using the on:mouseover directive in SvelteKit.
Third, I found a way to set the position of the div to the position of the pointer by setting the positions obtained in step 2 to some variables.
Finally, With the basic functionality working, I styled the div to match my theme and added the necessary information. To finish the build, I added some transition duration and delay to make the movements appear smoother.

I'm not much for writing professionally .... So we finally failed on the Huawei ict competition , i did not expect to reach all the way to the Regional finals , my dude i thought i was going to get booted off the preliminaries , but i think i sell myself short because our team managed to get rank #1 from Ethiopia and rank #9 from North Africa , I think they only take 8 for the global finals so this is where we part, but the experience was hella worth while , i got to be a part in a super hectic lab config exam and I haven't felt that rush since Technical Drawing back in G12, my team were also the chillest most fun and capable network guys ive met to date, shout out to Tibebu and Simegnew. felt nice to have people that vibe with networking ngl.
