🌟 On May 9, 2006, Russia introduced the honorary noscript of 'City of Military Glory'.
This noscript is awarded to cities that saw displays of courage, perseverance and mass heroism by our country's defenders during fierce battles.
⚔️ Unlike the noscript 'Hero Cities', which are honours feats solely from the Great Patriotic War, the 'City of Military Glory' recognises heroic acts across various pivotal moments in Russian history, reaching back as far as the invasion led by Batu Khan.
The first award ceremony took place on May 7, 2007. As of 2025, 47 cities have received this honorary noscript:
Belgorod, Kursk, Oryol, Vladikavkaz, Yelnya, Yelets, Malgobek, Rzhev, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, Tuapse, Polyarny, Luga, Velikiye Luki, Veliky Novgorod, Dmitrov, Vyazma, Kronstadt, Naro-Fominsk, Arkhangelsk, Kozelsk, Pskov, Volokolamsk, Bryansk, Nalchik, Vyborg, Kalach-on-Don, Vladivostok, Tikhvin, Tver, Stary Oskol, Kolpino, Anapa, Kovrov, Lomonosov, Taganrog, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Mozhaisk, Maloyaroslavets, Khabarovsk, Gatchina, Grozny, Petrozavodsk, Staraya Russa, Feodosia, Mariupol and Melitopol.
🏅 The names of these cities are engraved on a granite stele in Alexander Garden in Moscow — part of a unified memorial ensemble alongside the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Alley of Hero Cities. Each City of Military Glory also features its own commemorative stele: a granite column topped with a double-headed eagle, adorned with the city’s coat of arms and the official Presidential decree bestowing the noscript.

8 мая накануне Дня Победы дипломаты Посольства на военном кладбище в г.Фредрикстаде почтили память майора Яснова Павла Васильевича (защитник Одессы и Севастополя от немецких оккупантов) и старшего сержанта Назарова Александра Николаевича, скончавшихся в Норвегии в годы Великой Отечественной войны.

Правительство утвердило Концепцию устойчивого развития коренных малочисленных народов Севера, Сибири и Дальнего Востока до 2036 года
🗓С 1 января 2026 года в России начнется реализация актуализированной Концепции устойчивого развития коренных малочисленных народов Севера, Сибири и Дальнего Востока до 2036 года.
⚡️ Главные цели концепции – экономическое, социальное и культурное развитие коренных народов, сохранение их исконных территорий проживания, а также поддержка их традиционного образа жизни, хозяйственной деятельности и культуры.
⚡️ Работа по сохранению исконных территорий малочисленных народов включает мониторинг экологического состояния и учет интересов коренных жителей при инфраструктурных проектах. Представители народов должны участвовать в общественных слушаниях и экологических экспертизах.
🎣Поддержку традиционной хозяйственной деятельности и промыслов коренных малочисленных народов предполагается осуществлять за счет совершенствования механизмов приоритетного использования ими охотничьих и рыболовных угодий.
⚡️ Создание комфортной среды проживания включает:
• повышение качества связи и обеспечение доступа в интернет,
• расширение сети многофункциональных центров госуслуг,
• развитие сети медучреждений,
• организацию медосмотров и диспансеризации,
• расширение использования телемедицинских технологий и выездных форм оказания помощи.
⚡️ Обеспечение доступности образования предполагает:
• оснащение школ современным оборудованием и учебниками на родных языках,
• поддержку языков малочисленных народов в информационном и цифровом пространстве.
⚡️ Сохранение этнокультурного достояния народов Севера, Сибири и Дальнего Востока включает:
• популяризацию объектов культурного наследия и объектов нематериального этнокультурного достояния,
• поддержку деятельности театров и народных коллективов, использующих в представлениях родные языки, а также научных исследований в области культуры малочисленных народов.
⚡️ План мероприятий по реализации концепции в шестимесячный срок поручено разработать Федеральному агентству по делам национальностей совместно с другими заинтересованными органами власти.

🎙 Excerpt from the press statement by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin (May 11, 2025)
💬 Vladimir Putin: Russia has proposed ceasefire initiatives on several occasions, but they, these initiatives, have been repeatedly sabotaged by Ukraine.
For example, the Kiev regime defiantly violated about 130 times the 30-day – I want to make it a point – 30-day moratorium, from March 18 to April 17, on strikes against energy facilities, which was declared in accordance with our agreement with US President Donald Trump.
The Easter truce initiated by Russia was not observed either: the ceasefire regime was violated by Ukrainian forces almost 5,000 times.
Nevertheless, for the celebration of Victory Day – and we consider this to be a sacred holiday for us as well, just imagine that we lost 27 million people – we declared a ceasefire for the third time on this holiday, which is sacred to us.
Incidentally we conveyed to those of our colleagues in the West who, in my opinion, are sincerely looking for ways to settlement, our position on this issue, on a ceasefire on Victory Day, and that in the future we do not exclude the possibility of extending the terms of this truce – but, of course, after analysing what will happen in these several days, based on the results of how the Kiev regime will react to our proposal.
And what do we see? What are these results?
The Kiev authorities, as you can see for yourself, did not respond at all to our ceasefire proposal.

As I have already said, the Kiev authorities not only declined our ceasefire proposal, but also, as we all saw, tried to intimidate the leaders of the states who gathered for the celebrations in Moscow.
<...>
I will repeat: we have proposed steps towards a ceasefire on many occasions. We have never refused to engage in dialogue with the Ukrainian side. Let me remind you again: it was not us who interrupted the negotiations in 2022; it was the Ukrainian side.
❗️ In this connection, despite everything, we propose that the authorities in Kiev should resume the negotiations that they interrupted at the end of 2022 and resume direct talks. And, I stress, without any preconditions.
We suggest starting without delay next Thursday, May 15, in Istanbul, where they were held earlier and where they were interrupted. <...>
Tomorrow we are going to have a conversation with the President of Turkiye, Mr Erdogan. I would like to ask him to provide such an opportunity to hold talks in Turkiye. I hope that he will confirm his desire to contribute to the search for peace in Ukraine.
We are set on serious negotiations with Ukraine. Their aim is to eliminate the root causes of the conflict and to achieve a long-term lasting peace for a historical perspective.
We do not rule out that in the course of these negotiations it will become possible to agree on some kind of new truce and a new ceasefire. And a real ceasefire that would be observed not only by Russia but also by the Ukrainian side and would be the first step, I repeat, towards a long-term, sustainable peace, rather than a prelude to continuing armed conflict after the Ukrainian armed forces have been rearmed, re-equipped and frantically digged trenches and new strongholds. Who needs such peace?
Our proposal is, as they say, on the table. The decision is now up to Ukrainian authorities and their supervisors, who are seemingly guided by their personal political ambitions, rather than the interests of their peoples, want to continue the war against Russia at the hands of Ukrainian nationalists.
Let me reiterate myself: Russia is ready for talks without any preliminary conditions. There are combat actions and war going on now, and we propose to resume negotiations that were not interrupted by us.
Well, what's wrong about it?
Those who really want peace cannot but support this.

🏅 80-летие Победы в Великой Отечественной войне — событие поистине планетарного масштаба. Задолго до 9 мая, накануне праздника и, собственно, в #ДеньПобеды памятные и праздничные мероприятия с участием российских дипломатов прошли в более чем 120 странах мира.
🕯 Как никогда широкий размах приобрела всемирная акция Бессмертный полк — шествия были организованы более чем в 90 странах мира. Почтить память героев Великой Отечественной войны за рубежом вышли десятки тысяч соотечественников, которые помнят и ценят подвиг поколения победителей, а также наши дипломаты.
По всему миру — более чем в 80 странах — проводились акции, посвящённые памяти советских воинов и подвигу героев Великой Отечественной войны. Среди наиболее заметных: #СадПамяти, #ОкнаПобеды, #ГеоргиевскаяЛенточка, #ОгоньПамяти, #СвечаПамяти и другие.
Российские дипломаты и соотечественники уделяли особое внимание военно-мемориальной работе, особенно в условиях не прекращающихся «войны с памятниками и захоронениями красноармейцев в Европе». Наши коллеги провели торжественные церемонии возложения цветов и венков к мемориалам более чем в 70 странах, ухаживали и приводили в порядок могилы погибших советских воинов и военнопленных. Только лишь одно Генконсульство России в Бонне приняло участие в 130 памятных акциях. Кроме того, в ряде стран были открыты новые мемориальные таблички, посвящённые Победе советского народа в Великой Отечественной войне, а также прошли панихиды по павшим солдатам и офицерам Красной армии.
Посольства, постпредства и генконсульства по всему проводили торжественные приёмы и другие праздничные мероприятия, включая концерты, выставки, кинопоказы, литературные вечера. Дипломаты также посещали ветеранов, проживающих за рубежом, вручали им медали и письма от Президента России В.В.Путина, дарили подарки и выражали самую искреннюю благодарность.

❓12-14 мая на Шпицбергене с визитом находятся два комитета альянса НАТО. Есть ли у Посольства комментарий на этот счет?
💬 Ответ: Визит делегации НАТО на Шпицберген наглядно свидетельствует о стремлении альянса втянуть архипелаг в орбиту своего военно-политического планирования вопреки установленному Договором о Шпицбергене 1920 г. международно-правовому режиму, предусматривающему исключительно мирное развитие архипелага и запрет на использование его территории в целях войны. Это не может не вызывать у России как участницы Договора обеспокоенность.
👆Для решения общих проблем Шпицбергена и всего Арктического региона имело бы смысл делать ставку не на военные мероприятия, а на развитие конструктивного сотрудничества с участием всех стран-подписантов Договора о Шпицбергене и, например, организовать для них в Лонгиербюене международную встречу. Тем более, что 100-летие вхождения архипелага в состав Норвегии предоставляет для этого хорошую возможность. Такие предложения уже звучат в норвежской научной среде.

❓ En topptung Nato-delegasjon med representanter fra 20 land besøker denne uken Spitsbergen. Er dette noe Russlands ambassade vil kommentere?
💬 Svar: NATO-delegasjonens besøk til Spitsbergen er et tydelig bevis på alliansens ønske om å trekke øygruppen inn i sin militærpolitiske planlegging, noe som er i strid med den internasjonale rettsorden som ble fastsatt i Spitsbergen-traktaten av 1920, som forutsetter en utelukkende fredelig utvikling av øygruppen og forbyr bruk av dens territorium til krigsøyemed. Dette vekker naturligvis bekymring i Russland som er part i traktaten.

💬 Svar: NATO-delegasjonens besøk til Spitsbergen er et tydelig bevis på alliansens ønske om å trekke øygruppen inn i sin militærpolitiske planlegging, noe som er i strid med den internasjonale rettsorden som ble fastsatt i Spitsbergen-traktaten av 1920, som forutsetter en utelukkende fredelig utvikling av øygruppen og forbyr bruk av dens territorium til krigsøyemed. Dette vekker naturligvis bekymring i Russland som er part i traktaten.

We will forever remember the price we paid for Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Unlike countries of the Western Europe overpowered by Nazis, the Soviet Union did not succumb to Nazis who planned to exterminate us all. We faced a war of annihilation. For decades after Nuremberg, this was never questioned. Now, we are forced to prove that it was genocide.
The peoples of the Soviet Union not only defeated the Wehrmacht, but also brought life, liberation and salvation to the peoples of Eastern and Central Europe. The Red Army, the Soviet soldiers halted the Nazi extermination machine in its tracks and extinguished the Holocaust crematoria. Those who deny this are clearly supporting the resurgence of Nazism and the rise of neo-Nazism.
In a futile attempt, the embassies of the Kiev regime and its Western patrons are trying to propagate deep-rooted falsehoods that defy history. In their hatred, Ukrainian diplomats go so far as to equate the Soviet Union (homeland of their forefathers) with the Third Reich. <...>What they are doing causes nothing but indignation and disgust. Fathers and grandfathers of many of them, including the ringleader of the Kiev junta Zelensky, were front-line soldiers who fought for the common Soviet Motherland against Nazi invaders and criminals. What would their ancestors say, looking them in the eye, seeing their descendants who, for the sake of personal gain or a pat on the shoulder from their Western master, smear their own past and betray their own history?

The Kiev regime has really pushed the limits in its so-called de-communisation policy. It now advises Great Patriotic War veterans living in Ukraine – as unbelievable as this may sound – to conceal the war-time decorations they earned for winning the war, for the battles they fought and the feats they accomplished during the Great Patriotic War. They are being told to wear their decorations on the inside of their jackets so that they do not cause any misgivings to those around them who might somehow be disturbed. They referred to them as "sensitive people" without going as far as calling them Russia-haters, but there is no doubt that this is what they had in mind. How can this be? And how do we frame this posture? This is a deliberate effort to sneer at these people, mock and disparage them.
The Kiev regime now wants the real heroes not only to stay in the shadows, but to stage their self-annihilation of sorts so that they keep their heads underwater without even daring to show their decorations and medals. It is quite obvious that the Kiev regime views those who saved the world from Nazism with fear, hatred and resentfulness.
