❗️Excerpts from the statement by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the UN Security Council meeting:

🔸️The actions of the United States and its allies hinder international cooperation and the creation of a more just world, hold entire countries and regions hostage.

🔸️To remedy the current situation, it is necessary to address once and for all the root causes of the crisis in Europe.

🔸️A political and diplomatic settlement should be accompanied by concrete steps to reduce threats to Russia emanating from the Euro-Atlantic direction.

🔸️Second, the restoration of regional and global balances of power must be accompanied by active efforts to address inequalities in the global economy.

🔸️Third, other institutions of global governance must also undergo serious qualitative changes.

🔸️In addition to the UN, other multilateral organizations should contribute to strengthening multipolarity. These include G20, BRICS, SCO, CIS, CSTO, EAEU, ASEAN, GCC, Arab League, African Union and CELAC.

"Dawn" newspaper. Key ideas:

🔸️ Saying that “Ukraine is right from a legal standpoint” is a misinterpretation in terms of the norms and fundamental principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter and the 1970 Declaration on Principles of International Law.

🔸️NATO countries recognised the separation of Kosovo from Serbia as lawful. The International Court of Justice confirmed the right to express the will of self-determination without the need for parts of the country declaring independence to appeal to its central authorities.

🔸️There is no fundamental difference between the Kosovo situation and the one with Crimea and Sevastopol today, where residents opted for secession and reunification with Russia. 

🔸️The Pakistani leadership’s balanced, consistently neutral position on the conflict in Ukraine, has proven to be correct.
