THE CONCEPT OF MURUNAH IN  ISLAMIC JURISPRUDENCE

. Among the special features of Islam is Murunah which makes it a religion that is able to go through all the variations and challenges of the times and is able to adapt and survive throughout the life of the world until the end of the world.

. Murunah means elastic, flexible etc. This is the second biggest characteristic of Islam after the fixed and unchanging characteristics (Fixed) which are the characteristics of Tawheed belief which does not give room to Shirik to breathe.

. Firm and fixed features are holding the heart and holding faith. Meanwhile, the characteristics of Murunah involve interaction among communities, especially those involving systems outside of Islam.

. When Muhammad s.a.w brought Islam, the Arab society at that time accepted the Law of Human Slavery which also became the Law of the World at that time.

. Everyone knows that Islam opposes any form of slavery, but when Islam began to set foot in the Arab Jahiliyyah era, neither did Islam oppose the system of slavery by force, nor did Islam instruct its people to get out of the system or boycott or sabotage. In fact, Islam established Laws related to slavery in educating the community so that finally Islam succeeded in bringing out a world justice system that is directly free from the slavery system.

. Likewise, when Islam came in the Jahiliyyah era, hundreds of idols were erected around the Kaaba, nor did Islam order Muslims to tear down and demolish those idols. In fact, Islam started a campaign to fight materialism based on Shirk to Allah Ta'ala. After everyone converted to Islam, the idols were demolished.

. The same method Islam faced with other Jahiliyyah life systems including the usury economic system pioneered by the Jews at that time and the unjust muamalat system.

. With the disappearance of the Islamic Caliphate System, it means that we are returning to the Jahiliyyah era. It means that we must restart the Sunnah of the struggle of the companions of Rasullullah s.a.w.. The only thing that is different is the path of victory and success that we have already known and repented of. All that remains is to follow the footsteps left by Salafussoleh who has ensured his glory throughout human civilization.
