An Appeal to Caution on "Desert Greening"
James DeMeo

Excerpt
"... I became a big critic of the Algeria project of Mr. Abdellaziz, http://www.desert-greening.com which already a few years ago produced results which parallel the alarming scenario I mention above, along with a few other bad surprises. While Algerian weather did appear to moisten somewhat (much remains to be documented here), specifically in 2007 the work there energized the ITCZ and massive floods appeared in Tropical Africa. There was a consequent displacement of the Saharan dry-air mass eastward out of the Morocco-Algeria region, then northward into Greece, triggering droughts and massive wildfires. That is what my preliminary analysis revealed. He is an amateur who does not know what he is doing, in my estimation, working over very long periods without a break, as if to "force" the atmosphere to do this or that, without understanding of the issue of natural life-energy pulsation."

America’s Wars Against the Emotional Plague Charles Konia, M.D. http://charleskonia.com/americas-wars-against-the-emotional-plague/ America has been actively battling the emotional plague on two fronts for decades; Militarily and knowingly in the Middle East…
The concepts of traditional psychology and depth psychology are bound up with word formations. The living, however, functions beyond all verbal ideas and concepts. Verbal language is a biological form of expression on a high level of development. It is by no means an indispensable attribute of the living, for the living functions long before there is verbal language.

Note on this Resource Listing:

"I try to keep this Resource listing up to date, but people change emails, addresses and websites, so we cannot easily keep up with all of that. If you find a dead weblink, kindly let us know, and try a standard internet search.

"Also beware of raw searches of internet for information on Reich and Orgonomy, as well as "Wikipedia", which is dominated by leftist revisionists of Reich's work, as well as associated "Skeptic Club" members. For example, my own various research papers in scientific journals which affirm Reich's experiments, and my books, are always systematically erased by the anonymous Wiki scribblers who dominate their pages. See these:
http://www.orgonelab.org/wikipedia.htm
http://www.orgonelab.org/orgonenonsense.htm

"There also is a distressing tendency for some individuals and groups to progressively distort Reich's findings over the years, "correcting" Reich according to "Politically Correct" ideas that flow from the "anything goes / genderism" ideas of Alfred Kinsey, which are antithetical to those of Reich (see my book In Defense of Wilhelm Reich), or upon the socially-destructive and genocidal ideas of Karl Marx (see my article on the "Marx Engels Genocide Quotes"). In so doing, they have discredited themsleves as authentic representatives of Reich's science and therapy methods, even if they belong to an "orgonomic society", or publicly misrepresent themselves as staying "close to Reich", as if using orgonomic terms made it so.

"Also, sometimes as people age, they progressively draw back from Reich's vital findings into dark mysticism or "spirituality" ideas, discarding or distorting Reich's clinical findings on genitality and mystifying the orgone energy, trying to drag him down into their quagmire. There are several cases of this, where one-time serious natural scientists and physicians who stayed very close to Reich, in old age, deviated significantly and began espousing rather alarming philosophies of spiritualism and guru-ism. I cannot always know this, and so a given entry into our list may have "aged" beyond the original rational reasons for inclusion. I ask the reader to let us know if they find any of our listings going in those distorted directions. Also if there are good people following Reich closely, making a life-positive benefit, and wish to get on this resource list, I'd be happy to review their materials and add them in.

"Thank you."

WILHELM REICH AND THE COLD WAR: The True Story of How a Communist Spy Team, Government Hoodlums and Sick Psychiatrists Destroyed Sexual Science and Cosmic Life Energy Discoveries, by James Edward Martin. Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957), his colleagues, and his antagonists, are among the most influential groups of people of the 20th century. As a part of Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic movement in Vienna, Reich is hailed as an innovator. His later work in the United States brought him to an ignominious end when he died in federal prison. Author and researcher James Edward Martin took up the subject of the controversial psychoanalytic pioneer and natural scientist, expecting to disprove Reich's suspicions that his detractors were predominantly communists and even Soviet spies. This led the author to dusty university archives across the United States and Europe, and to interview Reich's associates and relatives. He also made Freedom of Information Act searches of FDA, FBI and CIA files, investigating not only their files on Reich, but also of his major detractors. In this book, you'll meet Karl Frank, the leader of an underground anti-Nazi group of Germans, calling themselves "New Beginning." Frank was a friend of Reich's in Vienna in the 20s; he later worked for Allen Dulles' intelligence agency Office of Strategic Services. It was Karl Frank who confirmed to Reich that Mildred Edie Brady, the instigator of the FDA's persecution of Reich, was indeed a fully committed Soviet agent. You'll listen in on conversations with Michael Straight, who was the publisher of Mildred Brady's article in "The New Republic" magazine. You'll hear his explanation of his tangled past involvement with a notorious den of Soviet moles, the Cambridge Five spy ring that included Anthony Blunt, Kim Philby, Donald Maclean and Guy Burgess. You'll learn how Stalin's agents used Reich's own techniques of character analysis in a perverted way, in order to find psychological hooks into the minds of innocent people, conforming them to the red thread of conspiracy. You'll see what Mildred Brady, a cheerleader for the Emotional Plague, did to her own daughter. You'll travel to Arizona, and visit the places where Reich conducted his atmospheric medicine, under the noses of officials in the government's weather modification center, the Institute of Atmospheric Physics. You'll join Albert Einstein at Princeton as he tests Reich's discoveries, confirms them experimentally but not pursuing them. You'll meet the famed Dr. James E. McDonald and his colleagues at the University of Arizona, about McDonald's groundbreaking work on weather modification and UFO research - he was one of the first mainstream scientists to blow the whistle on a government cover-up. Wilhelm Reich and the Cold War is exceptionally well documented with numerous citations, in a fully indexed edition including an Appendix with newly uncovered documents from FDA and FBI files, damning Reich's persecutors. 420 pp.

For several thousand years the doctor/patient relationship has been one of the most significant as well as intensely emotional and intimate of all human bonds. In recent history, however, this connection has deteriorated. What goes on in the doctor's office has become a major source of stress for all. Both patients and doctors feel rushed during appointments, burdened by skyrocketing expenses and frustrated and aggravated by having to deal with insurance company and government bureaucracies. On February 5, 2011 at the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts in Princeton, New Jersey, Board certified psychiatrists Peter Crist, M.D. and Edward Chastka, M.D. focused on this very compelling situation, leading an open discussion ennoscriptd "Is the Doctor Really In? - Making Each Visit Count," as part of the ACO's ongoing Social Orgonomy Presentation Series.

Their approach:

This presentation was different from past events in that it was an open discussion with the audience. Why did you make that change?

Dr. Crist: "We decided to experiment with this format so that we could engage the audience in a more informal discussion and focus on what matters most to them. We wanted to make a real connection with everyone who attended in as direct a way as possible."

Dr. Chastka: "And we wanted to listen to what people, both doctors and patients, had to say, not just talk to them."

What do you see as the primary cause of the lack of a genuine connection between doctor and patient?

Dr. Crist: "The doctor/patient relationship has been undermined by many different forces in recent years. The toughest change is that doctors have to deal with patients in a more mechanical way just to get paid. Because of insurance and government regulations, doctors are seeing more patients for shorter visits in order to make a living. The threat of malpractice suits has also been very destructive, and now most doctors have a figurative lawyer sitting in with them when they see patients and make medical decisions.

I want to be clear that this is not the doctor's fault. We're not blaming anyone, but rather focusing on what the problem is and what we can do about it. Both doctors and patients need to work together to make better contact. Doctors have become health care providers, and are no longer healers. A different kind of contact is essential for healing to happen, and we hope people left the discussion with new tools to help make that a reality."

Dr. Chastka: "Over the last, say, 100 years, people have been looked upon more and more as a biochemical machine, and the idea that there is a healing relationship between doctor and patient has lost its popularity even though there is a lot of information supporting its effectiveness. For example, studies in psychiatry with a control group of patients merely coming in and meeting with someone and talking, found that that alone was beneficial to the patient. However, because of health insurance, seeing a doctor is now more like dropping your car off at the mechanic, and that's not a relationship.

How has medical insurance contributed to the deterioration of the doctor/patient relationship?

Dr. Chastka: When health insurance first came about in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s there were no restraints - doctors no longer had to think about what it actually cost the patient, and the patient no longer had to worry about paying the doctor. This resulted in an explosion in medical costs -- not only in doctor and hospital fees but also with pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies. Since then we have gone even further down that road. People don't pay for their own regular medical care anymore and so prices are set in order to get the maximum amount from the insurance companies. The cost of medical care has lost any connection with reality, and the insurance companies decide whether the patient gets something or not. All of these things have contributed toward destroying the doctor/patient relationship and the true healing that it can bring about."

A Preliminary Investigation into a Prototype Device Based Upon Reich’s Spacegun
Leon Southgate
10 May 2020
https://www.psychorgone.com/orgone-biophysics/a-preliminary-investigation-into-a-prototype-device-based-upon-reichs-spacegun

Introduction and Background
....

As early as 1940, Reich was experimenting with processes that would eventually lead to the invention of the cloudbusteran array of long metal pipes, 9 to 12 foot long, grounded into water and pointed at the sky. Cloudbusters have scientifically evidenced effects upon weather conditions. If there is a continuum of aether-like energy in the sky, orgone, which is attracted to water and can be entrained in tubes, then it would be logical that such a device might work.

It all started with Reich observing that metal pipes, when aimed at the orgone waves he could see hovering above Lake Mooselookmeguntic in Maine, had some kind of effect upon those subtle energy waves. It appears that Reich always had a high degree of ‘energetic’ type ‘soft’ vision.

The Influence of Elsa Gindler-Ancestor Of Sensory Awareness (2006)

This was written as a chapter in a book published by Hogrefe Verlag in Germany in 2006 as Handbuch der Korperpsychotherapie (Handbook of Body Psychotherapy). The editors of this extensive undertaking recognize the two primary ancestors of body-psychotherapy to be Wilhelm Reich and Elsa Gindler. Wilhelm Reich taught and influenced many psychotherapists in Europe and later in the United States. Elsa Gindler’s work influenced many in Europe and some of those eventually came to the U.S. and taught. ...

Like many readers of non-fiction I love biographies. Writing the biography of someone you think important and worth writing about seems so obviously sensible that I did not think further about it and carried on happily reading biographies. I assumed without question that authors write the biographies of people they admire, even worship in some cases, at least people they think are important. I imagine it is a positive experience to soak in the world of, say, Robert Hooke, Charlotte Bronte, or Charles Darwin for a couple of years. It is certainly a positive experience for me, the reader, to spend a week or two in their worlds.

So what motivates an author to write about someone who he clearly despises, thinks is completely worthless, and wishes to destroy, not just to denigrate and ridicule, and whose work and history he aims to grind to dust and eliminate every positive trace of, so that posterity will not even come across him again? This hapless victim is not a celebrity or a political fanatic whose evil influence is destroying the world as we know it, but someone who is dead and all but forgotten. That seems to be the aim of Christopher Turner in his recent history of Wilhelm Reich. He spent seven years at the job, too. It can’t have been a very enjoyable seven years.

The noscript of Turner’s book gives the game away. This is not going to be a scholarly history, though it is dressed up as one, with pages of references. The orgasmatron was Woodie Allen’s satirical name for a gadget that did not really resemble the orgone accumulator at all. It was a true machine, depending on electric input, as I understand it. (I haven’t seen the film in which it stars). The orgone accumulator, devised by Wilhelm Reich, used no active input of energy from any ordinary source at all and simply worked because of the physical properties of the materials in its panels. Turner pursues his thesis with a tabloid knack for sliding things together, papering over cracks in his arguments, and leading readers on from A to G or even J and K before they realise that they have left A. It seems a strange project to spend seven years and take 450 pages and piles of apparently scholarly references to make a point that is, at heart, little more than a red-top headline. His book has been embraced in exactly the spirit in which it was written, with lurid headlines, ridiculous, unsupported claims, and abusive, contemptuous comments on newspaper websites.

A good example of how Turner bends his evidence is his version of Ola Raknes’s first encounter with Reich in Oslo in 1934. (Raknes was a lay psycho-analyst and later became a staunch, informed, and sober advocate of orgonomy.) ‘According to Reich’s future disciple Ola Raknes (who would be bowled over by his “vitality, his vivacity and his charm” ),…’ Now Raknes was never the disciple of anybody or anything but the truth. He had a tenacious respect for evidence and always investigated things before he came to a conclusion about them. He was Reich’s future student, a very different thing. Also he was the last person to be bowled over by anything or anybody. I looked up the original words to see how accurate this quotation was. In his book, Wilhelm Reich and Orgonomy, Raknes wrote, ‘What first impressed me when I met Reich personally was his vitality, his vivacity and his charm.’ The real quotation gives a very different picture from the one Turner gives.
