A New Years Wish

Well after the latest Christmas disaster,
You'd think for 'speaking while drunk' I'd be a master,
But here I am yet again trying to prepare each words,
Without mixing them up to sound utterly absurd,
I want you to fully understand what I mean,
So these words they need to come out clean,
Because if there's one thing I want from this year,
It's for it to start with my words being clear,
So excuse me for a second as I take a deep breath,
But not too many so I hyperventilate and cause my death,
I need to remove all words and phrases from my mind,
That rhyme and are of a humorous kind,
No humour allowed its time to be serious,
No jokes, nor puns, nor claims I'm delirious,
It's time for that to go now in 2026,
Hang on I just realised it rhymes with 'plenty, plenty dicks',
Shit well that's the end of my seriousness pledge,
May aswell just lean into it eh and not see it as a wedge,

To explain the plan as of January 2026:
The Debt is Like a Big IOUs
Think of the "National Debt" as a giant pile of IOUs that our land owes to folks who lent us cash.
The Size of the Land
The "GDP" is a way to measure how much stuff all the folks in our land make and sell in one year. It is like the size of our big work shed.
The 98% Guess for 2026
The men in charge say that in 2026, the pile of IOUs will be almost the same size as the work shed (98%). This means for each buck the shed makes, the land owes a bit less than one buck. They think the pile will stop growing so fast this year.
The 96% Goal for 2028
By the year 2028, they hope the shed will grow big and the land will pay back some cash. They want the pile of IOUs to be a bit smaller (96%) than the work shed.
How They Try to Fix It
They plan to do this by:

Fees: Making other lands pay a fee to sell their goods here.
Less Cost: Spending less cash on things the land does not need.
Growth: Helping folks work more so the shed gets huge.

If the work shed grows fast and we spend less, the pile of IOUs won't look so big.

Paying the national debt, even its interest, is too much spending.
We should cancel it like student loans.
The banksters are lucky more people aren't calling for their arrest as it is.
The question is how many rights are the criminals willing to forfeit by their uncooperativeness.
