The Naga Cave - Thailand

First of all, yes these pictures are 100% real and yes they're all taken from the same place.
I was just having a discussion, with a friend of mine and we were discussing pareidolia and how deceptive it can be?
But when we both said we'd each thought of a clear example when it isn't, but is said to be by mainstream academics, we both produced different photos of the same place!
This place, the Naga Cave in Thailand!
This then posed another question, what came first, that pareidolia created the image of a huge snake from a naturally occurring rock formation, that was already there and it was fashioned into the snake?
Or was it carved from scratch because... Reasons?
Or Nature's being a dick, having a right laugh at us and it is natural?

Quite honestly, my friend and I can't decide?
