At 8:00 Russian missiles struck the territory of the Kommunar Plant in #Kharkov.

⚡️Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine (21 October 2022)⚡️

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

◽️At Krasny Liman direction, the Russian troops successfully impeded the enemy's efforts to cross the Zherebets River at night close to the settlements of Novovodyanoye (Lugansk People's Republic) and Torskoye (Donetsk People's Republic).
The Russian artillery's overwhelming barrage stopped and forced back the advancing Ukrainian Armed Forces troops.
In total, 25 Ukrainian servicemen were killed, as well as two infantry combat vehicles and two pickup trucks.

◽️At Nykolayev–Krivoy Rog direction, Russian troops foiled two offensive attempts of AFU battalion tactical group close to Davydov Brod and Sukhoi Stavka in Kherson region.
Attempts of up to 20 AFU sabotage and reconnaissance formations to enter the rear regions at night were also foiled.
The concentrated fire of Russian artillery and the active actions of Russian troops neutralised more than 120 Ukrainian servicemen, six armoured fighting vehicles, and 13 cars.

💥 A hangar containing foreign-made Ukrainian military hardware was destroyed by a high-precision hit by the Russian Aerospace Forces close to Novaya Kamenka (Kherson region).

◽️At Zaporozhye direction, AFU forces in small groups attempted to attack Russian positions in the vicinity heights near Vremevka.
The Russian troops successfully repulsed all the attacks, the enemy was driven back to their original positions.
More than 40 Ukrainian personnel were neutralised, as well as 2 tanks, 3 armoured fighting vehicles, and five AFU pickup trucks.

💥 Operational-tactical and Army Aviation, missile troops and artillery annihilated 3 command posts in Drobyshevo (Donetsk People's Republic) and Novovoznesenskoye (Kherson region), as well as 69 artillery units in firing positions, manpower, and military hardware in 167 areas.

◽️In addition, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries were hit in 8 temporary locations near Kamyshevakha (Zaporozhye region), Sadok, Bezymennoye, Pyatikhatki (Kherson region), Kramatorsk, Artemovsk (Donetsk People's Republic), the cities of Nikolayev and Zaporozhye.

💥 2 depots storing ammunition as well as rocket and artillery armament of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed in Ukrainka (Kherson region) and the city of Zaporozhye.

💥 1 gasoline storage facility for Ukrainian military hardware was destroyed near the town of Novogrigorovka in Nykolayev region.

💥 The Russian Air Defence eliminated 6 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the territories of Novoandreevka (Donetsk People's Republic), Skadovsk, Vysokoye (Kherson region), and the Kakhovskaya HPP.

Operational Concepts: FIGHTING POWER - Part 2

Part 1 introduced fighting power as an operational concept, being the product of three M's - MIND, MORAL and MEANS. Part 2 is aimed at readers who prefer practical examples over conceptual theory.

THE AZOV REGIMENT
In the battle of Mariupol, Russian forces fought the Azov Regiment building by building until besieging it in the Azovstal plant, where it continued to resist until surrendering. The Russian campaign was difficult because of Azov’s ability to generate fighting power throughout the battle. Let’s examine why.

MIND – Since integration into AFU as a full regiment, vast resources were invested by Ukraine and NATO into Azov. Soldiers and officers received the best training and resources. Azov’s command group included officers trained in overseas military academies. Azov had excellent knowledge and skills.
MORAL – The extreme neo-Nazi and ultra-nationalist views of Azov members is well-known. Fanaticism was cultivated in the Regiment. Azov managed its own recruitment, relying on candidate vetting by the ultra-nationalist Praviy Sektor. Fanaticism was weaponised by the Azov Regiment. 
MEANS – Azov was potent in some but not all physical means of warfighting. In the BOS framework:

• C3 – Azov’s command, control and communication remained effective until surrender. Azov commanders were among the best trained officers in the AFU. Azov had NATO-standard encrypted radios down to squad level. Long range encrypted comms was maintained with higher until surrender. Azov maintained Starlink terminals as a backup and for IO.
• MAN –The manoeuvre BOS is characterised by firepower, mobility and protection. In Mariupol, Azov mounted an effective manoeuvre defence, enabled by high level close combat training, effective C3 and high morale. A decisive limitation to Azov as it withdrew into Azovstal was the loss of ground vehicles for mobility.
• ISR – Intel on Russian troop dispositions was provided to Azov by sympathetic locals and agents in Mariupol. OPs and small UAVs were used to observe the AO. They received a stream of NATO-supplied satellite imagery. They maintained combat reconnaissance patrols. Overall, the regiment sustained effective ISR until the end.
• IO – The battle provided a unique glimpse into Information Operations. A stream of Twitter and video updates were publicly released by Azov, even on the day of surrender. The aim of these updates was to shape Russian force perceptions and decision making. IO efforts of Azov are also represented by its cultivation of fanaticism among troops, to maintain morale even when the situation was desperate.
• FS – Azov used OPs and UAVs to direct AFU Fire Support. At the time, the AFU did not possess precision strike weapons such as HIMARS or 155mm Excalibur shells as they do now. The urban combat environment of Mariupol provided plenty of cover to Russian troops from shelling. It can be said FS provided to Azov in the battle was only marginally effective.
• AD – AFU Air Defence capability was very limited, which enabled Russian forces to make frequent use of combat aviation in the battle, up to and including spectacular attacks by strategic bombers against Azovstal.  Complete Russian air superiority in the battle meant attempts by the AFU to use helicopters to support the besieged regiment ended in failure.
• CSS –Azov lost all logistical support when it was surrounded. Preparation before the battle included caches of weapons, ammunition, rations and medical supplies around Mariupol including at Azovstal.

SUMMARY
Azov generated fighting power throughout the battle using highly trained troops and officers, a powerful ideological base, and the ability to sustain effective C3, supported by a sophisticated ISR and IO effort. This was despite limited FS and AD capability, and the deprecation of MAN and CSS during the battle.

Our source reports that Western lobby groups have already set the timing for Moldovan President Maia Sandu to organise a "controlled provocation" in the Transnistrian issue. 
By the end of February 2023, Sandu must be drawn into the military case. (Many point to any date before the new year). 
Sandu should already be raising militant rhetoric now and preparing society for some kind of military special operation. 
So preparations are being made for the mobilisation as we wrote about earlier. Also, the source indicated that this. operation is clearly an advantage to the "Romanian lobby" giving them a good chance to "eat the Moldovan statehood", taking new territories under the war noise.

We have mentioned in previous posts that Sandu had several options for movement. Now everything indicates that she is preparing Moldova for war because she is unable to overcome poverty and devastation in the country and she doesn't want to give up power (well, or is simply not allowed to by those who put her in that "chair").

The destruction of the ammonia pipeline is planned for the Bereznevatskiy district, which has more than 15,000 residents.
