Prices are to rise at a high rate in the coming months

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the National Bank of Ukraine's Inflation Report (October 2022).

"Crude inflation will accelerate further and exceed 50% in the next two quarters. High risks and business costs, which will intensify in winter due to expensive energy, will remain weighty drivers of price increases," the review said.

The NBU forecasts that next year food inflation will decline rapidly due to the restoration of optimal technological and logistical links and the arrival on the market of new high-yield crops, including from the country's southern regions. In addition, a decline in world food and energy prices will be a disinflationary factor.

"Further saturation of the food market with both domestic production and imports will stabilize food inflation at low levels (around 3%) in the absence of significant new supply shocks," the NBU forecasts.

According to the NBU, rising business costs, including energy costs, occupation of territories, complicated logistics, and reduced livestock have led to further acceleration in food price growth.

In addition, pressure from world prices has also intensified. Fruit prices, predominantly imported citrus fruits and bananas, rose at a higher rate due to complicated logistics, global price increases for these products, and the adjustment of the official hryvnia exchange rate in July 2022.

Due to lower supply, including from the temporarily occupied southern regions of Ukraine, and increased production and supply costs for businesses, the rate of appreciation of vegetables has remained high, the NBU said.

"Agriculture remains almost the only sector in the economy, for which the effect of the "logistics problem" factor on price expectations has intensified. This can be explained by the arrival of a new crop with limited storage and export capacity, despite the opening of the 'grain corridor'. Through the latter and the July correction of the exchange rate, prices for Ukrainian grain on the domestic market rose," the survey said.

Thus the prices of sunflower oil and sunflower products rose again. This was also reflected in the rise in prices of fodder, which together with the reduction of livestock and increased export opportunities supported the rise in prices of livestock products. In particular, meat prices were higher and so were eggs, the survey said.

War map and the situation on the fronts on the evening of 29 October

A terrorist attack was launched today by the Kiev regime against the ships of the Black Sea Fleet that were securing the "grain corridor". The attack involved nine UAVs and seven maritime drones. All targets were destroyed, both in the air and in the water. One ship sustained minor damage. The response was not long in coming. Russia withdrew from the grain deal immediately after the attack, causing hysteria in Kiev and condemnation from the West.

⚔️The situation on the fronts in the outgoing 24 hours:

⚫️ Svatovo-Kreminna direction

Russian army strikes defeated two companies of militants together with units of foreign mercenaries in the districts of Tymkivka, Ivanivka, Tabayivka, and Krakhmalnoye in the Kharkiv region. Over 70 people, 1 tank, 2 BMPs, 2 APCs, and 10 vehicles were eliminated.

The Ukrainian armed forces continue unsuccessful attacks near Chervonopopovka LNR. Active artillery and frontline aviation actions destroyed over 70 personnel, 4 tanks, 2 armored vehicles, and 3 pickup trucks.

⚫️Ugledar direction

In the morning our troops launched an offensive on Ugledar. As a result of air and artillery action, the AFU suffered significant losses. Two Buk-M1 SAMs are known to have been hit by Russian kamikaze UAVs. As a result, the AFU positions west of Ugledar lost their "air defense umbrella".

Our columns broke the first line of defense and headed toward Pavlovka. Already now the Russian Armed Forces are controlling a large section of the Pokrovsk - Bakhmut - Mikhailovka highway with artillery.

⚫️ Kherson direction

The AFU, consisting of two companies, staged a breakthrough attempt in the direction of Bruskinskoye but was met by Russian aviation and Uragan MLRSs. The enemy suffered casualties and fled.

💡The Halloween celebrations in Seoul ended tragically. 146 people died, and at least 150 were injured in a stampede that formed in an alleyway near the Hamilton Hotel. Media reports say it could have been the appearance of a pop singer in one of the bars that the crowds flocked to see.

EU imports of Russian LNG score to Record Highs!

While European imports of Russian pipeline gas have declined by 80% ,shipments of Russian LNG (liquefied natural gas) to Europe have increased by 50 % percent during the first 9 months of 2022 new data show.

The EU ramped up its purchases of Russian LNG this year, as Moscow slashes gas supplies via pipeline.

Imports of Russian LNG totalled 15 billion cubic meters through September, up 50% from last year.

Over the summer, Moscow began cutting deliveries via Nord Stream 1, then completely cut them off last month.

Russia still supplies some pipeline natural gas to Europe via other pipelines, but not much: flows have been reduced from 350 million cubic meters at the start of the year to 70 million cubic meters, according to the most recent estimates from Kommersant.
