The US is imposing sanctions on a number of Chinese companies because of their support for Iran's drone program, the US Treasury Department website says.

It is reported that this is a "network of five companies and one person" based in China and "responsible for the sale and shipment of thousands of aerospace components, including components that can be used in the products of the Iranian Aircraft Industry Company (HESA)."

HESA was involved in the production of Shahed-136 drones, which Iran transferred to Russia.
