[Moron] Volodymyr Zelensky, made a plea to Western companies: “Leave Russia,” he said. “Make sure that the Russians do not receive a single penny.”

Hundreds of companies answered the call. Politicians and activists predicted that it would help strangle the Russian economy and undermine the Kremlin’s war effort.

- Not really, many sold to "local" management and business continued.

Mr. Putin has turned the exits of major Western companies into a windfall for Russia’s loyal elite and the state itself. He has forced companies wishing to sell to do so at fire-sale prices. He has limited sales to buyers anointed by Moscow.

Western companies that have announced departures have declared more than $103 billion in losses since the start of the war, He has also subjected those exits to ever-increasing taxes, generating at least $1.25 billion in the past year for Russia’s war chest.

- Days of 90's Russia exploitation are over. Thieves hide in Londongrad.

In all, Mr. Putin has overseen one of the biggest transfers of wealth within Russia since the fall of the Soviet Union. Huge swaths of industries — elevators, tires, industrial coatings and more — are now in the hands of increasingly dominant Russian players.
...
“You screwed up, left it,” he said. “We picked it up inexpensively. Thank you.”

Mr. Putin scoffs at the notion that leaving will hurt. “Did they think everything would collapse here? Well, nothing of the kind happened,” he said this month. “Russian companies took over and moved on.”

Hungary to veto Bulgaria's Schengen bid unless it cancels Russian gas transit tax ([NED] Kiev "Independent")

Hungary threatened to veto Bulgaria's entry into the EU's passport-free Schengen Zone if Sofia does not scrap its transit tax on Russian gas, Reuters reported on Dec. 16, citing Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

Bulgaria imposed a transit tax on Russian gas in October, threatening to increase the prices of Hungarian imports flowing via the Turkish Stream pipeline.

"We have made it clear to the Bulgarians that if they keep this in place for long, if they jeopardize the safety of Hungary's energy supply for long, then we will veto their Schengen entry," Szijjarto said.

Hungary's top diplomat promised that the veto would be lifted as soon as the tax is removed.

In a bid to enter the much-desired Schengen Zone, the Bulgarian ruling coalition decided to suspend the tax earlier this week following discussions with the European Commission, at least until the EU presents a better solution.

"This tax shouldn't be unilateral from Bulgaria's side, but we should work with the European Commission. Such a tax can only be imposed with all European countries, in a way that would actually have an effect on the economy and on the Russian Federation," said Kiril Petkov, a former Bulgarian prime minister and a leader of the ruling PP party.

Hungary teaches the traitorous Slavic sellout Bulgarian government the timeless concept of fu*k around and find out.

Western equipment no longer wants to move through the mud, it is tired, it needs rest.

It is noted that the temperature in Donbass is above zero and it is snowing. There is mud at the front.

Russia will be blamed again. Just like the last time, when Russia was to blame for the cold.

Historical Thing ,of course.
Napoleon: We must win before winter.
Hitler: we have to make it to winter.
Russians: you have no idea how crazy the weather can be in Slavic lands.
All the West: we will supply you with the best Western equipment in the world!
Ruthenians-Ukrainians: yes, this is the best technology in the world (when you forget that you are on the common Slavic land and lost your roots).
Russians: are they even trainable? Even a bear can be taught to ride a bicycle, but it seems that these people do not realize that the weather here behaves in a special way.
Western technology is getting stuck in the mud
The whole world: well it's the best technology for sure.
Soviet Union : that's why tanks have to have a low profile and less weight, you can't get through this mud in the west.

Just in case you are suddenly called a VATNIK or told that a vatnik is the clothing of slaves, blah, blah, blah.
The liberal public has it.
Well, in general, you can safely show them these photos.

Just reliable, warm and practical clothing for this climate. Even the emperor wore it.
It doesn't look like "wow, you're such a special starlet, the most special starlet out of thousands of others." But that's not what these clothes are for. It's suddenly a type of special workwear.

NYT: How Putin turned a Western boycott into a gold mine.

If companies want to leave Russia, the president sets the terms - in a way that favors his government, his elites and his special operations.

Zelensky appealed to Western companies, "Leave Russia. Make sure the Russians don't get a single penny."

Hundreds of companies responded to the call. Politicians and activists predicted it would help strangle the Russian economy and undermine the Kremlin's war effort.

President Vladimir Putin had other plans. Putin turned the departure of major Western companies into a windfall for Russia's loyal elite and the state itself. He forced companies willing to sell to do so at throwaway prices.

Huge industries - elevators, tires, industrial coatings and more - are now in the hands of increasingly dominant Russian players. In some cases, that player is the
the state.

There remains a healthy consumer world in Russia today, which helps Putin maintain a sense of normalcy despite a special operation that has been longer, deadlier and more costly than he predicted.

Most foreign companies remain in Russia, unwilling to lose the billions they have invested there for decades. Other businesses have been sold off and now resemble a looking glass.

Putin's economic counterstrikes have helped shore up support among elites benefiting from the conflict and mitigate the effects of Western isolation. While Ukraine has been preoccupied with short-term imperatives such as shoring up international support, the relative resilience of the Russian economy has allowed Putin to play the long game.

Two weeks after Russia launched the SMO, President Biden boasted that the West was crushing the Russian economy. "The list of companies and international corporations leaving Russia grows daily," he emphasized.

Things looked grim for Putin. The stock exchange in Moscow was closed and the ruble collapsed.

But Mr. Putin was preparing his financial rebuttal. He restricted the flow of money abroad and demanded that companies from "unfriendly countries" get approval before selling their businesses.

By the summer of 2022, the Russian economy had stabilized, the ruble had recovered, and Putin's strategy had changed.

Coming out of the crisis, the government wanted to do more than just keep the doors open. It increasingly wanted to dictate the terms of every deal. In August of that year, Putin issued a decree requiring companies in key industries to get his signature before selling their Russian assets.

Dozens of companies, including divisions of Siemens and Caterpillar, suddenly found themselves subject to the whims of Putin himself.

Note: Are the people there in the West exactly trainable? We've been turning that trick since the last century during the NEP

Economist Phillip Pilkington notes:

In a lot of European countries corporate bankruptcies are higher than in 2008-09. Some of this is explained by rising interest rates and the delayed impact of the pandemic. But much of it is likely due to high energy prices and the ongoing destruction of the European economy. 🇪🇺

"I know that after I die, a pile of garbage will be placed on my grave. But the wind of history will scatter it mercilessly!"(c)

Happy birthday to a great man, a talented statesman and unrivaled manager, who became at the helm of the country in times of hardship.
Under his firm hand we have gone through all sorts of things, but we have gone through them, having survived as a united nation. And we are still using the legacy of his era.

The wind of history has blown, that is the main thing.

Note: I write this as a descendant of those who were repressed. And for a cause.
