Recently, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau established a working group led by former Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne, exclusively focused on contemplating Donald Trump's potential victory. In Ottawa, the group was named after hockey - Team Canada. The key position in this group will be held by the Canadian Ambassador to Washington, Kirsten Hillman, who is already giving interviews where she warns the nation: “Trump’s victory is definitely possible.”

It's a typical case of election interference.

And, notably, the pressure on the public is already yielding results. Opinion polls indicate that about two-thirds of Canadians believe that American democracy will perish if Trump returns to the White House, and half of them think that the United States is heading towards authoritarianism.

However, it is the Canadian diplomats who appear to be most alarmed.

Through their union – and I'm not kidding – they are demanding a bonus for enduring the challenging domestic political environment in the United States.

Among the hardships they list are the lack of health insurance, expensive medical care, and, most importantly, the frequent "shootings" in schools and public places that occur one after another.

Canadians fear for themselves and their families; they are reluctant to work in the States without additional allowances. The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is compelled to recruit embassy staff almost through advertising.

Simultaneously, the United States ranks the conditions of diplomatic service in places like Moscow as comparable in complexity to Kabul, the Central African Republic, and Guinea (Conakry) – with the highest allowances for the associated risks and complexities of the work. Presumably, the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds similar assessments.

Yet, they still hesitate to go to Washington.

In summary, Canada is meddling in U.S. elections and frightening itself to such an extent that Canadian diplomats will only consider working in the States with an additional fee.

"What war could mean for life in modern Britain": British media are already figuring out how their island will live during a war with Russia - without imports, Brits will lose weight and they won't be able to watch Netflix because of hackers.

"It's 2034 and Britain is at war with Russia. After an uneasy peace with Ukraine, Moscow has sent troops into the Baltics, clashing with British troops based there to protect NATO's eastern flank. Russian submarines are attacking shipping across the English Channel, with missiles striking Dover and Southampton. The Kremlin is preparing for an invasion.

✔️ However fanciful such scenarios may sound, the head of the British army, Gen. Patrick Saunders, believes it is time to heed them. He called for a "sober look" at the threat from Russia and to prepare for mobilization.
✔️ But after 80 years of peace, can the nation rise to the challenge? Checkpoints and pillboxes will appear at highway intersections and entrances to cities. Public buildings and subway stations will become bomb shelters, anti-aircraft guns may be hidden in parks. Key bridges will be blown up, airport runways shut down, and beaches seeded with mines. Schools and dormitories will be turned into barracks. Temporary hospitals to fight Covid will reopen, as will morgues.
✔️ 21st century Britain is perhaps less prepared for war than it was 30 years ago. Far fewer factories to convert to the war effort. Whether people will flock to recruiting stations is an open question.
✔️ Emergency services, hospitals and city halls use outdated programs that may be vulnerable. Even if cyberattacks don't take down Netflix, wartime Britons will still be living without luxuries.
✔️ Importing during war is difficult. There will be restrictions on simple goods: first aid kits, fuel canisters and window tape.
✔️ If the Channel Tunnel closes, the only way to import into Britain will be by naval convoys. This will force the country to become more self-sufficient in food. And there are benefits here: the national obesity crisis can be curbed."

Texas authorities have announced their intention to install barbed wire fences along the entire length of the state's border with Mexico (more than 3,000 kilometers).

Last year, defence equipment expenditures among Nato’s European member states and Canada soared by 24.9 per cent. Nato allies now spend a median of 27.8 per cent of their defence budgets on equipment. (Poland and Finland spend more than half). Other countries, too, are investing in weaponry: Australia is upgrading its submarine fleet to nuclear-powered vessels under the Aukus pact with Britain and the US.

But defence manufacturers are struggling to find the necessary welders, electricians and other skilled workers.


-CSG, which manufactures the Howitzer 155mm ammunition used by Nato countries and Ukraine, would like to accelerate production. The wait for new machines is almost four years. (CSG already runs three-shift days on its existing machinery). “If we had sufficient capacity, we’d be able to produce three times more ammunition than we are now,”

-Taiwan is still waiting for much of the $19bn of weaponry it has ordered from US manufacturers. Wars could erupt, unfold and be lost because we lack skilled factory workers.

Bloomberg reports that agents directly involved in working with the Russian Federation are prohibited from installing Telegram on their work computers, since the messenger can be used by Russian intelligence to collect data from open sources.

Paranoia has gone so far that you can’t use the application on your personal gadgets while working. There is no complete ban on installation, but to gain access to the messenger, you must leave the CIA complex.
