Tetsuya Yamagami, 41, also said he "made multiple guns," the investigative sources told Kyodo news agency on Sunday, adding that police have found and confiscated guns at the attacker’s home in Nara, similar to the gun used by the shooter on Friday.

Abe was attacked on Friday morning in the Japanese city of Nara during his campaign speech. Yamagami approached the politician from behind and fired two shots from a distance of about 10 meters (33 feet). Police said Abe was conscious immediately after being wounded, but then, during transportation, his condition became critical "with cardiac and pulmonary arrest." Later in the day, Nara Medical University hospital pronounced him dead.

WANTED: Texas man accused of threatening to kill Texas Senator Ted Cruz and other Republican congressmen

Isaac Ambe Nformangum called Cruz's office and threatened to kill him “be it by a bullet to the face or by the smashing of a brick in your skull,” according to a message released by the local District Attorney’s office and revealed by Fox News.

The man faces a felony charge for threatening to commit an act of terrorism and was scheduled to appear in court Friday but reportedly did not show up after being released on bond July 3.

Nformangum, who accused Republicans of taking away his right to vote, claimed that “every last one of your Republican colleagues to have signed off on that [Texas Republican Party] platform is to be found, and is to be found and killed.”
