🇺🇸 Surfside Search-and-Rescue

📍 The Surfside search-and-rescue efforts will continue after the demolition of the portion of the condominium building left standing, Vice Mayor Tina Paul told Sputnik.

📍 The controlled demolition at Champlain Towers South could happen Sunday evening or Monday morning before Tropical Storm Elsa impacts the weather in Miami-Dade County.

📍 According to Paul, the search-and-rescue operation in Surfside could last for weeks and maybe months and she hopes that there will be more people found alive under the rubble.

🔎I know it's not been looking good. But I think, the reality is we know that it's not looking good, but you have to think there could be a miracle," Paul told Sputnik.

📍 The vice mayor says the collapse of the multi-story condominium could have been triggered by multiple factors, including poor maintenance, tidal waves, as well as a weakening of the foundation because of nearby construction.

🔎 “To find out what really happened, we have to look at everything. And it doesn't make all the other buildings vulnerable,” Paul said. She pointed out that a lot of the nearby buildings now hired structural engineers but it appears that at the moment, there are no buildings that are cause of immediate concern.

👶 “We’re babies as a country”

Matthew McConaughey congratulated Americans on the 4th of July in his unique manner, saying in a video posted on Twitter that the US is “basically going through puberty”.

“As we celebrate our independence today, as we celebrate our birth as a nation, the day that kick-started a revolution to gain our sovereignty, let's admit that this last year, this trip around the Sun, was also another head-scratcher”, the superstar said.

“But let's also remember that we're babies as a country. We're basically going through puberty in comparison to other countries' timeline, and we're going to go through growing pains”.

This holiday address might be more than just an inspiring statement about unity, since McConaughey previously considered running for governor of Texas next year 🤔
From hitting Bezos with stick to replacing him as CEO: What we know about new Amazon boss Andy Jassy

🔸Jassy joined Amazon in 1997, when the then-online book retailer was only preparing for its initial public offering (IPO).

🔸He bumped into the company's founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos, during a session of the company's favourite competitive sport, "broomball". Jassy accidentally hit his boss over the head with a paddle that is used to play the game.

🔸In 2003, Jassy proposed establishing a cloud service for sharing data in order to speed up the process. This service was then sold to other companies and later became known as Amazon Web Services (AWS).

🔸The new Amazon CEO led the AWS division and under his leadership, it became one of the top contributors to the company's massive profits.

Jeff Bezos announced back in February 2021 that he would be stepping down from his post. He is set to be replaced on 5 July, the 27th anniversary of the company.

🎆😱 National Geographic has claimed in a tweet that 4 July fireworks are racist.

The smoke pollution, the magazine says, “disproportionally” hurts minorities.

“Scientists found that vulnerable people and communities of color are disproportionately exposed to air pollution from firework celebrations”, NG tweeted, posting a link to a study on the impact of the holiday on communities.

A divorce with a once-beloved spouse is always a heavy burden, especially when it comes to the question of who ends up with the children ... (or animals).

✍️ Meet the new bill awaiting signature by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The law will require a judge to consider the pet's “best interests” before transferring custody to either party in a controversial marital divorce.

🦮 Now think about whether you provided enough for your pet and whether you took good care of him, because the day may come when you can only see him on weekends ...

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America

Seeing the record crowds of over 45,000 people in Ohio and Florida, waiting for days, standing in the pouring rain, they come from near and far. All they want is HOPE for their Great Country again. Their arms are outstretched, they cry over the Rigged Election—and the RINOs have no idea what this movement is all about. In fact, they are perhaps our biggest problem. We will never save our Country or be great again unless Republicans get TOUGH and get SMART!
