😃 White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Ashish Jha, during a press conference reporting on the president's health status, noted that President Biden "ate his breakfast and lunch, fully”. Netizens were quick to see the funny side of this announcement:

🗣 “Just like a proud five-year-old. Now he’s earned his ice cream dessert!” one of them suggested.

Netizens also tweeted such gems as “Did someone also spoon-feed him with the choo-choo train too,” and “sounds like a nursing home".

🗣 “He did insist the doctor cut his carrots into smaller pieces first,” joked another netizen

📹 Ukrainian neo-Nazis continue scattering the PFM-1 landmines - known as 'Butterfly' mines - this time in the direction of Kharkov.

These dangerous weapons which are designed primarily to maim and kill civilians, have been scattered along the Russian border, near the village of Izbitskoye.

The 'Butterfly' is a small and easily concealed land mine that can disable anyone who steps on it. In Lisichansk, dozens of townspeople have been maimed by PFM-1 mines scattered by the Ukrainian armed forces.

It is worth remembering that Ukraine is a signatory of the Additional Protocols to the Geneva Convention and the Ottawa Treaty banning anti-personnel mines back in 1997, and then repeatedly reported it was disposing its PFM-1 stockpiles.

As we can now see from the situation in the Special Military Operation zone, the military and political leadership of Ukraine has lied about having destroyed these weapons and use them, primarily against civilians

⚡️⚡️ WHO chief declares Monkeypox outbreak public health emergency of international concern
The World Health Organization on Saturday declared the monkeypox outbreak, which has spread to over 70 countries, a global health emergency. The declaration by the United Nations health agency means the outbreak is an "extraordinary event" that requires a more robust global response.

Cases continue to climb in some of the largest US cities such as New York and Washington, DC. A total of 74 nations have detected 16,836 cases of the virus, according to CDC data as of July 22. Of the 74 countries with cases, 68 of them "have not historically reported monkeypox," according to the CDC

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, warned earlier this month that monkeypox is "something we definitely need to take seriously."

💰 Mega Millions jackpot now $790M, nation’s 4th largest prize

The jackpot has grown so large because there hasn’t been a winner in three months. Those 27 consecutive drawings without anyone matching all six numbers has allowed the jackpot to gradually grow from its $20 million starting point in April.

The highlighted pre-tax $790 million prize is for a winner who takes an annuity option, paid out in 30 annual payments. Most players choose the cash option, which for Friday’s drawing would be $464.4 million.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states as well as Washington DC, and the US Virgin Islands. The game is overseen by state lottery officials.

🔥 US takes emergency action to save sequoias from wildfires

The US Forest Service announced Friday it’s taking emergency action to save giant sequoias by speeding up projects that could start within weeks to clear underbrush to protect the world’s largest trees from the increasing threat of wildfires.

Sequoia National Park, which is run by the Interior Department and not subject to the emergency action, is considering a novel and controversial plan to plant sequoia seedlings where large trees have been wiped out by fire.

Earlier this month, when fire threatened the Mariposa Grove of giant sequoias in Yosemite National Park, firefighters set up sprinklers. Flames burned into the grove — the first wildfire to do so in more than a century — but there was no major damage. A park forest ecologist credited the controlled burns with protecting the 500 large trees.

🚫 Minnesota abortion clinic braces for tide of out-of-staters

Even before Roe v. Wade was reversed, WE Health Clinic was the nearest abortion provider for some people in northern Wisconsin, northern Minnesota and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Today, the clinic’s employees are acutely aware of their state’s status as an island for legal abortion in the Upper Midwest. Abortion is now illegal or treated as such in Wisconsin and South Dakota. North Dakota is expected to follow suit in late July and Iowa’s Republican governor is asking the state courts to severely limit the procedure.

The clinic has raised its cap on patients from 16 to 20 on the one day a week when abortions are typically performed. Estimated that the clinic lost more than $60,000 last year by serving medical assistance patients, a deficit the clinic had to make up through fundraising and grants.

⚡️ Dwayne Johnson's 'Black Adam' sure seems like the villain in his movie’s latest trailer

During the 'Black Adam' panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, star Dwayne Johnson emphasized that even though his character has no problem killing or maiming people who get in his way, he’s really more of an antihero than a proper villain.

The trailer details how Black Adam’s actions draw the attention of the world’s heroes like Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), and Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), all of whom seem much more keen on stopping him than trying to recruit him to their ranks.
