🚨Toddler Dies After Ingesting Cocaine

A man has been charged in the death of a 2-year-old girl who ingested cocaine and fentanyl, prosecutors said Wednesday, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Walter H. Clark, 27, faces aggravated manslaughter, aggravated assault, and child endangerment charges, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.

On Saturday, July 23, authorities said officers responded to a home in Cherry Hill to report a 2-year-old who had stopped breathing shortly before 8 p.m. First responders found a young girl unconscious, lying next to drug paraphernalia, prosecutors said.

Authorities said she was rushed to the hospital but died a short time later. An investigation concluded that she had cocaine and fentanyl in her system. After the Wednesday arrest, Clark will remain in the Camden County Jail before his first hearing.

🔻Wall Street ending flat as investors await inflation updates

Stocks are closing flat on Wall Street as investors prepare for a busy week of updates on inflation. The S&P 500 gave up early gains and closed down 0.1% Monday, while the Dow Jones Industrials Average edged higher, and the Nasdaq fell slightly.

Small-company stocks outpaced the broader market, indicating investors' confidence in the economy. Retailers and communications stocks were among the biggest winners. Clean energy companies, including First Solar, rose following Senate approval of Democrats' big election-year economic package.

🔘Man accused of causing a massive crash in a Golf Cart in Galveston, Texas

Four people are dead, including two children, following a three-vehicle crash that involved a golf cart, according to Galveston police. Two other people remain in critical condition.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday on 33rd Street, a few blocks from Seawall Boulevard. Sgt. Derek Gaspard, with Galveston police, said two adults and two children were killed in the crash. All four of them were in the golf cart.

Police said a black Hyundai SUV failed to stop at Avenue R and 33rd Street intersection, hitting the golf cart and a black Dodge truck. Police said the driver of the black Hyundai suffered minor injuries. The driver was identified as 45-year-old Miguel Espinoza from Rosenberg. Police say they plan on charging him with four counts of intoxication manslaughter.

"It's going to take a while to get through this but I promise you we're not leaving. The federal government and all its resources - we're not leaving," Biden said during the briefing, which took place at an elementary school in Lost Creek. "As long as it takes, we're going to be here."

After surveying the damage and meeting with families affected by the flooding, the president praised the local community for their "courage" and "stamina."

American universities face heavy criticism from conservatives who say the institutions are stifling free speech and promoting progressive ideas.

The Harvard Crimson, the Ivy League school’s student newspaper, released its annual survey of the faculty of arts and sciences in April, revealing that more than 80% of Harvard faculty respondents characterized their political leanings as liberal or very liberal, while only 1% of respondents stated they are conservative and no respondents identified as very conservative.

YouGov, a global public opinion and data company, surveyed more than 22,000 Americans about how a college education affects a person’s political ideology. Most college graduates say college makes people more liberal.

▪️ US District Court Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk earlier on Monday lifted an injunction that required the Department of Homeland Security to resume the policy, formally called Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP).

▪️ In a statement, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said it had stopped placing migrants in the Migrant Protection Protocols, a policy colloquially known as "Remain-in-Mexico." It also said it would process migrants already enrolled in the program, and allow them to continue their asylum cases inside the US.

😮 An Alabama boy admitted that he accidentally shot his mother to death after having initially fabricated a story about how she died, authorities said Monday.

▪️ The family of the 12-year-old boy, who has not been publicly identified, was cooperating with authorities, and his case will be processed in the family court system, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

▪️ The victim was identified as Ayobiyi Cook, 29, the sheriff's office said.

▪️ The shooting occurred just after midnight on Saturday in Forestdale, just north of Birmingham.

▪️ In an initial statement, the sheriff's office said a man was seen fleeing from the house where Cook's body was found shortly before someone called 911. There appeared to be no forced entry, the initial statement said.
