🎾American Frances Tiafoe played the match of his life to beat second seed Rafa Nadal 6-4 4-6 6-4 6-3 in the fourth round of the U.S. Open on Monday. It was the first time this year that Nadal, who had been chasing a record-extending 23rd Grand Slam noscript, has been beaten in a major.
Tiafoe covered his face with his hands as he soaked up the cheers from a packed house at Arthur Ashe Stadium after breaking Nadal for the fifth time to claim the biggest upset of the tournament.
"I don't even know what to say right now; I'm beyond happy, I'm almost in tears," Tiafoe said in an on-court interview. "I can't believe it. He is definitely one of the greatest of all time. I played unbelievable tennis today, but I really don’t know what happened."

💠Russia Will Provide Resources to Friendly Countries if the G7 Sets a Ceiling on Oil and Gas Prices
On Tuesday, at the Eastern Economic Forum, Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov announced to reporters Russia will supply energy resources to friendly states and redirect supplies to the East if the countries of the Group of Seven (G7) set a price ceiling for oil and gas from the Russian Federation.
"Any actions, including setting a price ceiling [for oil and gas], create conditions for a shortage at home, and also increase price volatility. Russia, as a reliable partner, will provide partners in friendly countries with energy resources and saturate the domestic market, of course," the minister said.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, delivered her first speech in Britain since she and husband Prince Harry stepped down from their royal duties, telling a summit for young leaders that they were aiding "the positive and necessary" change in the world.
The speech came a week after the publication of an interview with “The Cut” magazine in which she again voiced criticism of how she and Harry had been treated by the royal family, causing a stir in British newspapers.
"It is very nice to be back in the UK," Meghan said in the keynote address to the One Young World summit in Manchester, northern England, which Harry, Queen Elizabeth's grandson, also attended.

Hillary Clinton has lifted the veil on her decision to wear pantsuits. During an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell, Clinton said it was all the fault of the press who took inappropriate photos up her skirt during a state visit to Brazil in 1995.
🗣 "All of a sudden the White House gets alerted to these billboards that show me sitting down with, I thought, my legs together. But the way it’s shot, it’s sort of suggestive. And then I also begin to have the experience of having photographers all the time – I’d be on a stage, I’d be climbing stairs, and they’d be below me."
🗣 "I couldn’t deal with it, so I started wearing pants," Clinton concluded

🇬🇧😺Britain’s favorite Billboards have emerged across London announcing that Larry the cat has thrown his collar into the ring to become the country's next leader. The sign features the cat in a Union Jack tie alongside the slogan, "Larry for leader". Seems…
Larry the Cat, the permanent incumbent of 10 Downing Street, made a rare appearance outside the British PM's official residence to bid farewell to the retiring Boris Johnson and welcome Liz Truss.
Many people were disappointed by the outcome of the race to become Britain's new PM, having opted for Larry to be the new leader instead of Truss or Rishi Sunak

Most of the time I write about Russian foreign policy, so I get to cover many briefings of Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. With dozens of reporters queuing up to ask her questions, usually it's not easy to record a long interview with her, but she answered three @sputnikint questions today on the sidelines of EEF's discussion on infowars - one of them about Western media "shooting itself" by publishing fake news and losing readership as a result, another one about ways in which infowars against Russia have changed after Moscow launched special military operation in Ukraine, and thirdly Maria Zakharova also commented on the "fog clearing up" in the West as audiences wake up and see what's really happening with Western mainstream media's attacks on Russia. Full interview coming up at our website - sputniknews.com
