"Indian and Chinese troops in the area of Gogra-Hotsprings (PP-15) have begun to disengage in a coordinated and planned way, which is conducive to the peace and tranquility in the border areas," a statement by the Indian Army reads.

Since May 2020, eastern Ladakh has witnessed numerous standoffs between China and India, both of which have reinforced their military presence in the area. The absence of a marked border between the two countries has been a source of tension for decades.
