⚡ NATO began planning to increase its presence along its eastern flank “years” before Russia kicked off its special military operation in Ukraine, NATO Military Committee Chairman Rob Bauer has revealed
💬 “We’re talking about the biggest overhaul of our military structures since 1949. The planning for that started several years ago, but now we’re implementing it,” Bauer said, speaking to reporters at a press conference at the NATO Military Committee Conference in Tallinn, Estonia on Saturday.
📌 NATO underwent several waves of expansion between 1999 and 2020. The expansion took place despite former US Secretary of State James Baker’s verbal promise to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in 1990 not to expand the alliance “one inch” east of the former East Germany following that country’s incorporation into the German Federal Republic.

🖼 New York museums to disclose artwork looted by Nazis
Museums in New York that exhibit artworks looted by Nazis during the Holocaust are now required by law to let the public know about those dark chapters in their provenance through placards displayed with the stolen objects. At least 600,000 pieces of art were looted from Jewish people before and during World War II.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York City, said it had identified 53 works in its collection as having been seized or sold under duress. All of those objects were obtained by the museum after being returned to their rightful owners.

🚙Uber says ‘no evidence’ user accounts were compromised in hack
The hack, which was discovered Thursday, forced the company to take several of its internal systems offline, including Slack, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform. Uber is continuing to investigate how a hacker, who claims to be 18 years old, was able to gain administrator access to the company’s internal tools.
Hackers used stolen credentials to access a private source code repository and obtain a proprietary access key, which they then used to access and copy large quantities of data associated with Uber’s users and drivers, including 57 million user records with 600,000 driver’s license numbers.

🎨 Adobe’s Figma acquisition is a $20 billion bet to control the entire creative market
Over the past several years, Figma has built its name as a forward-thinking and collaborative design platform and a formidable competitor to Adobe, the giant in the creative apps market. That rivalry ended this week when Adobe announced that it has struck a $20 billion deal to acquire Figma.
Adobe has a history of buying up some of the biggest tools in the creative space, acquiring companies like Behance, which lets people showcase their creative work, even Photoshop was an acquisition. Adobe’s also making this acquisition during a time when the regulatory bodies are getting more serious about cracking down on big tech mergers.
