Witnesses say they saw her dragging the suitcase, which was "stained with blood" and "smelt strongly of bleach."

🇺🇸 In the Land of the Free, the Supreme Court declined to consider whether American Samoans are born full US citizens, NBC News reports. The decision means the court did not consider overturning the so-called “Insular Cases,” a series of long-criticized early 20th century Supreme Court rulings.
The challenge was brought by three Utah-based Samoans, who are considered US “nationals” at birth, but not citizens. The challengers’ lawyers in court papers say that American Samoans cannot run for president or serve in Congress, and are also barred from certain occupations.
US nationals can live and work anywhere within the United States and travel on a US passport, although the challengers’ lawyers point out that their passports include a statement saying “NOT A UNITED STATES CITIZEN.”

🇺🇸 The Democrats have lost potential voters in recent weeks due to unending concerns about the economy and inflation, a new poll by NYT/Siena has found.
According to the survey, 49% percent of likely voters said they would vote for a Republican candidate on November 8, compared with 45% who would vote for a Democrat.
Despite the Democrats heavily leaning on abortion rights to rally voters, the poll data shows that concerns over the state of the economy far outweigh those about abortion, with 5% of likely voters saying abortion was the most important problem facing the country, compared to 26% citing the economy and 18% pointing to inflation.

🇺🇸🇵🇰"The US is confident of Pakistan's commitment and its ability to secure its nuclear assets," says the State Department, days after President Joe Biden called Pakistan "one of the most dangerous nations in the world."
"What I think is maybe one of the most dangerous nations in the world: Pakistan. Nuclear weapons without any cohesion," the 79-year-old US leader said last week.
Over the weekend, Islamabad summoned the US ambassador over Biden's remarks, while Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said:
"As far as the question of the safety and security of Pakistan's nuclear assets are concerned, we meet all – each and every – international standard in accordance with the IAEA."

😷CDC: 3.3 million received updated COVID-19 boosters in the US last week
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that some 3.3 million Americans had received updated COVID-19 booster shots during the past week.
As of 12th October, 14.8 million Americans had received the shot in the first six weeks of the booster being available, just 6.9 percent of those aged 12 or older who are eligible, the CDC added.
The shots are being administered slower than last year when over 20 million people received their third shot in the first six weeks after COVID-19 boosters were initially authorized for the elderly and immunocompromised people.
Beginning this week, US health regulators authorized the use of Pfizer's and Moderna's Omicron-tailored COVID-19 booster shots for children as young as five years, which is expected to expand the government's autumn vaccination campaign.
