🛢 The world is in the middle of "the first truly global energy crisis", Fatih Birol, the head of the International Energy Agency, says

The situation has arisen because markets for liquefied natural gas (LNG) have been squeezed and major oil producers have cut supply.

Rising imports of LNG to Europe during the Ukrainian crisis and a potential rebound in Chinese demand for the fuel will tighten the market as only 20Bln cubic meters of LNG capacity will come to market next year, Birol said.

He added that the recent decision by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies - known as OPEC+ - to cut output by 2 million barrels per day is "risky" and "really unfortunate".

🇺🇸 Five people have been stuck some 60 meters underground for more than a day at Grand Canyon Caverns after the attraction’s elevator malfunctioned, local authorities said on Monday.

The visitors of the attraction are not confined inside the elevator and are free to use the underground caves and adjacent hotel while they wait for help to arrive. The suite is listed as $1,000 per night for two.

The malfunction was discovered on Sunday, and the group was unable to use the stairway system. Attempts to fix the elevator have been unsuccessful, and authorities are considering using a harness to pull the tourists through the elevator shaft.

❗️Russian MoD briefing on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine:

▪️Russian troops repelled an attack by the Ukrainian Army, driving them back to their original positions in the Kupyansk region. More than 30 Ukrainian servicemen, one tank, three armored combat vehicles, and two pickup trucks were eliminated.

▪️The Russian Army eliminated more than 120 Ukrainian servicemen, three tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, an armored personnel carrier, three pickup trucks, and one car in the Krasny Liman direction.

▪️Russian forces successfully repelled an attack by the Ukrainian Army, eliminating up to 130 Ukrainian servicemen, three tanks, nine armored combat vehicles, and 11 cars.
