📌 Elon Musk's $44 billion acquisition of Twitter has continued to make headlines, largely due to the organizational changes that he has brought to the social network. 🤫State-run organizations are deploying spyware to keep tabs on politicians and journalists almost entirely without EU-level supervision, according to a draft report for the European Parliament
▪️The document indicates that citizens can “safely assume that all EU member states have purchased one or more commercial spyware products”
▪️However, “no meaningful European oversight is in place; not to curb the illegal use of powerful spyware against individuals, nor to monitor the trade in these digital goods,” the author of the report said in a statement
📌According to the report, governments have fallen short on cooperation in terms of investigating spying, such as in the cases of spying on the president of the Greek socialist opposition party PASOK and a Polish senator who served as campaign manager for the opposition Civic Platform party

🗳️Trump Calls for Protests Amid ‘Alarming Situation’ Concerning Absentee Ballots Across US
Former US President Donald Trump on Tuesday called on voters to protest given the "alarming situation" concerning absentee ballots across the United States during the midterm elections.
"The absentee ballot situation in Detroit is REALLY BAD. People are showing up to vote only to be told, ‘sorry, you have already voted.’ This is happening in large numbers, elsewhere as well. Protest, Protest, Protest!" Trump said via Truth Social on Tuesday.
Trump said that reports from the US state of Arizona show the voting machines are not properly working in predominantly Republican areas.
"Can this possibly be true when a vast majority of Republicans waited for today to vote? Here we go again? The people will not stand for it!" he said.
Trump recalled that Pennsylvania announced it could take days to determine the winners in the midterm elections. He also noted that the reports say about 20% of the voting machines in Maricopa County in Arizona are not counting the votes properly, mainly in Republican-majority areas.
"Kari Lake, Blake Masters and all others are being greatly harmed by this disaster. Can’t let this happen, AGAIN!!! I believe Attorney General Mark Brnovich is on the case, big time. He has a chance to be the biggest hero of them all, and at the same time save our Country from this Cancer from within!!!" Trump said.

🚨🚨 Illinois County Says Connectivity Impacted by Cyber Attacks in Midterm Vote - County Clerk
"The Champaign County Clerk’s Office is aware of connectivity issues and computer server performance being impacted," Ammons said in a statement on Tuesday. "The Clerk’s Office believes these are due to cyber-attacks on the network and servers."
Ammons said the Champaign County’s website has been targeted by repeated distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks, which were unsuccessful due to the reinforced security and response from the IT team.
"No data or information has been compromised and the election is secure," Ammons said. "These cyber-attacks are a strategic and coordinated effort to undermine and destabilize our democratic process. The intent is to discourage you from voting. Please do not fall victim to this."
