💬“So all manner of people could end up there, but these people who have claims like asylum and refugee claims that are supposed to be processed end up there. The thing is, people are only supposed to be there for a day and end up getting kept there for weeks. So that's actually a violation of the law, basically. Also there shouldn't be any more than I think is 1600 people there at any one time because it's a processing center and I think it's closer to 4000 people being there. So, yeah, it's a pretty outrageous situation and it is difficult to see this as accidental or incidental. Because there have been long term issues with centers where people are being processed or people are being kept while their applications are being determined.” Mohamed Elmaazi, UK-based freelance journalist said.
